i've been pretty bad and have not had a boardgame night in a while. Just got the resistance add-ons from the Kickstarter campaign and am hoping to play that soon!
“usaopoly (The Op), a leading games publisher, in collaboration with Toho International, Inc., is excited for the North American launch of GODZILLA tabletop games: MONOPOLY® and JENGA®. MONOPOLY®: Godzilla and JENGA®: Godzilla Extreme Edition will be available throughout North America in specialty stores this Spring, with a $39.99 and $19.99 MSRP, respectively.” Haven’t seen what the board/ pieces look like yet but might have to give it a spin! My friend made a fully customized version of Starwars Monopoly complete with battles that turned it into a much more fun game, I might need to see if he could give this one the same treatment.
Okay, let me be straight up here. I hate Jenga; never really played, never had any desire to. There are a ton of fun family games out there which deserve better attention. And one [new] thing I especially never got is trying to turn it into something moderately different (but actually totally the same! ) by incorporating 'licensed properties.' Blerg. But anyways, there's this. Could be, maybe, moderately interesting as display I suppose..... if only they hadn't plastered those stupid Jenga logos all over the @£&% bricks. Minutes of fun to be had there. I am sure there might be some folks out there who are not as old and grump as I. In that case, have at 'er. [c'mon give me something better than a paper standup to enjoy/show that there are anything other than grey-painted pieces of wood] Now if you really want a good idea to run with, give me a kaiju-themed Mölkky or Kubb game, where the targets are painted up as other monsters and/or buildings, and the throwing pin is Godzilla or a tokusatsu here. Done, sorted. Millionaire. You are welcome. PPS - patent pending.
