Does anyone care about this phone? I'm pretty excited about it and I'm really glad I don't have to switch service providers. I travel a lot and Verizons service has always been insanely awesome. When the iphone came out I really wanted to switch but AT&T has terrible service in Prescott so it didn't seem worth it. I've had a Blackberry 8703e for 2 years now and it's been great but I really like the features of the Storm; MMS, camera, video, aim, stuff like that. My phone is very business, so it'll be nice to have a phone that has all the features of my current phone but is just a little more fun. :)

    Anyone else?

Yeah I want to get one...got a BB Pearl at the moment through work that they were going to upgrade to a Bold. Had a play on the Storm thanks to a mate who's an IT journo and it;s brilliant. The touch screen blows the iPhone away.

It sounds like a Gatorade flavor.

My only problem w/ blackberrys is that the keyboards are so small my ham hands have a hard time with them.

This one doesn't have that tiny keypad.

It comes out on november 21st according to a press release. The click touch is a big plus, that's one of the reasons I hate touch screens, no feel. The 3.2 megapixel camera that can run video with a light is awesome (iphone is a 2 with no vid or flash), the fact you can open and modify word documents is cool too. I am not much of a gadget guy but I want it. Its supposed to be 199.99 with a two year contract or renewal, then if you are a longtime customer like me they give you a hundred dollar break on any new phone, plus I got an upgrade, so I will be picking it up for free. Built in GPS and a site that will let you download other useful apps makes it seem promising. All other verizon phones seem like rip offs of other, better phones. I think this is the first one that steps up to going beyond competitors stuff. The storm seems like an iphone apple would have held off 2 more years to release.

I also was looking into the iphone. But that AT&T has terrible service almost everywhere.

Well I got a Storm the day they came out. Over all I am very happy with the device. I had a Blackberry 8703e for the past two years so the transition wasn't as weird for me as it was for people who were using other phones before. I've used an iPhone quite a bit and I have an iPod touch so I feel like I can make good judgments. I REALLY like the "click" screen on the Storm. It allows for a lot less errors when typing and also gives you the chance to make sure you're doing the correct function before you do it. I will say the operating system is not quite as smooth as the iPhone. I also think the App Store is a HUGE plus for the iPhone. I guess RIM is bringing an app store to the storm and other BB devices but I think it will take a lot of time to catch up to the beast Apple has created. I am an Apple lover and it was a really tough decision to go with the Storm but at&ts service here in Prescott is very weak so I had to stick with Verizon. If you have any specific questions I can answer them.

In general it's a great device and has some minor flaws but I think over the next year they will make all the necessary OS upgrades to even it all out. I think with a little more development it is going to be some serious competition for the iPhone.

The Storm's touchscreen keyboard is....ok. It does offer interesting feedback to confirm, you've tapped a key...but having big fingers myself it would definitely take some getting used to.

I could get used to it.

I have thought about getting one but I already have a BB curve through work so I'm wondering if my "fun" phone will remind me too much of my work?

Not sure. I'll have to check out the click screen keypad at a Verizon store sometime. All I know is that if the iphone was available through Verizon and not AT&T (I have already vowed to AT&T that I will never be a wireless customer of theirs ever again after they fucked me over badly about 5 years ago).... I would already have a one!

I'm sure this Blackberry is a fine phone, but I'm so glad not being under a Verizon contract anymore. They are rather outspoken about not supporting the Apple platform, and that attitude/business model sucks.
