Well, that really is subjective isn't it. But sometime ago I sent Paul Kaiju a GID Kaws 5YL - and recently he sent me some photos. The results were so impressive that I wanted to wait until he was in my hands to see if he really was as amazing as he seemed. Tha answer was, of course, yes. Check out the following pics and see if you agree:
I saw a picture of that on the vinylabuse forum for customs, but couldn't find the actual picture. Damn that is yours? That shit is sooooooooooooo damn sweet!!!!! I totally love it. Looks great man!!!!!
Wait who's is it? I thought I saw Parka post that one. Still nice, how 'bout a glowie pic I know Paul takes that into consideration.
Doggone it....still can't see 'em...uuurrrgh....... I did see the pics that Parka posted on the KR forum about a week ago (which then made their way to geo's Flickr group shortly thereafter)- is it the same custom?
Aren't we the lucky guy scoring on some beautiful customs lately? Kudos to you and Paul. That's a stunner of one of my favorite figures. The glow just dies by itself and Paul brought it back to life and then some. I want a 5yl so bad.
You blew Kaws out of the water Paul.Your more talented than half of the hacks out there making"art toys"
and its all mine, mine I tell you, MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNEEEEEE!!!!!! (wheres that insanely drooling emoticon when u need it?)
Ah, finally- home on my own machine and can see these pics at last.... So it is "that one"; crazy, crazy, crazy beautiful work, Paul. Carl, you are so completely lucky!
I think the whole thing is incredible, but my favorite part are the teeth. That shit is just killer!!!!!
HA! I shoulda guessed! Way to use that piece, Carl! Well....how does he look in the dark, then, with this great new paint-up? I'm still working on the piece that's comprised of all the opposite GiD parts....I'm very happy with how he's coming out, but it's slow going- a lot of re-sculpting involved. Getting to the point, tho, where I may post some teaser progress shots soon.....
Just so this makes sense for everyone, ungawa222 supplied my blank 5YL a while ago as a composite made from half a blue GID and half a green GID - so he glows in two different colors. I have not had him under a light source for long enough to charge him up, cos I didn't notice him glowing last night. Sure he will look rad. Your resculpted guy sounds pretty amazing - look forward to the finished results!
Glad you and everyone digs it! I know I miss it! One of my favorite projects probably ever. I painted it at my girfriend's. It was glowing an eerie blue in the hallway and she was afraid it would knock on the bedroom door in the moonlight.
