That is a really amazing Bemon Calvin. I think the posters do little justice to many of the HP Bemons. There are a couple I've seen that in hand that looked completely different than on the poster.
Yeah its amazing and something I pick up once in a while to check the nice paint work. what a little lighting can do magic when shot. Without direct lighting though its not as colorful...kind of a semi dull finish which still looks great.
I am sure one of you wise birds can crack a little egg of knowledge all over our heads on some history. Was there only one run of hand-painteds (HPs)--the focus of the famous posters, of course? If so, what year(s) were they done? Or, does Mr. Bemon continually do HPs on a rolling basis, and then compiles a collector poster? I noticed, over the past two years or so, that the majority of Bemon pollution monsters are put out in a run of either 10 or 20. I assume this is what is referred to as factory paints (FPs), but does that mean no more HPs are created?
I haven't noticed any HPs since he started doing FPs. I think there were maybe 4 or 5 sets of HPs? Each poster catalogs a run of HPs. (BTW - I really want the top-middle Bemon in the last poster! Or the one down and to the left.)
I still think the term HP or "Hand Paint" is very misleading as opposed to FP or "Factory Paint". One Off or OO seem more appropriate, because are they not all painted by hand? I seriously doubt there is a Dr Seuss like machine painting all the FP's lol.
HP I think already carries the term one-off. All our toys are indeed hand painted. FHP usually indicates a run. The "factory" is indeed misleading. To n00bs.
All the answers to these questions already exist on here somewhere. But for the love of Bemon I will try and answer them here again. To my knowledge there were 5 runs of 30 HP Bemons released. Since then only FP runs have been sold. The factory runs have varied in number but I believe have been as large as 30 and as small as 10. Recently it seems all new FP runs have been limited to 10. Besides the painted releases there have also been 2 releases of MP (mixed parts) Bemons as well. The first run was of 60 the second of 120. There were also 20 test and/or proto Bemons released in GID as well. These however were never released for sale and exist in a selected few collections from what I understand. Bemon was first released in 2005 I think. I love you Bemon!
I don't know if its the photo, or the angle, but this really puts big-boy in a different perspective for me, and finally makes me really need to handle one.
I've gotten to handle a two-header, and it really is a cool toy. Not worth the dumb price, but it is an impressive and fun (and huge!) figure.
Got one,KuraaaaZEEE about it,worth every dumb penny and if I could do it again I'd pay stupid or even mildly retarded ass money. Edit: Autopsy, AWESOME score man! I need that and/or the green.
I'm (unfortunately) no 'Bemonologist', but I am very happy to have this smoky little guy holding down a shelf!
why?? bemons are NOT cheap at retail. even the mixed are more than 10k at retail now if you can get it. still the MOST difficult figure to score at retail.
