man.. i flew out in Feb when bad brains played with leeway.. john joseph almost ruined the entire thing. he was awful.
How appropriate to announce this in the Supertouch blog. Vintage Bad Brains mean so much to me; one of my all time faves. HR is a tragic figure, tho; when I hear he's playing with them, I never know quite how to feel- I find it a bit hard to root for a kickass old-school performance...while still feeling like the guy is mentally ill and has never gotten the help he needs. I don't know, tho; last CB's show....the Brains....I may have to go......
fromt the supertouch blog: It’s just been announced that a reunited Bad Brains (including HR) will play two nites back-to-back on October 9 & 10
man...that's going to be a tough call. I caught them wwwwwwwaaaayyy back in 1989 when they were still in their prime. I'm torn at whether or not I should see them or not. There's also a new Bad Brains documentary that's out -- all old films from their heyday! KW
http://www.interpunk.com/item.cfm?Item=132004& The description I read about this was that it was part concert video and then the other part had some interviews and whatnot. The price is excellent and man, look at the songs listed! I missed when Southpaw had shown this on the big screen last week, but it was to kick off the DVD sale. KW
Already have a copy reserved at Pure Pop in Burlington- just $13.49! Picking it up tonight! HUGE thanks for the tip, KW! I had no idea this was out. It'll make a nice complement to my old VHS dub of the '79 CB's performance movie.... Cheers, Mike
when i saw them in february at cb's i got the chills when Dr. Know walked in through the club. the dude has presense. i'm sailin on
