Working for the Bureaucracy of Death, under the official auspices of the Almighty, the Fat Lady comes to sing reluctant celebrities and stage performers into the great beyond by taking their place in the limelight for one final lullaby. Appearing as a hallucination in front of an ailing starlet, the Fat Lady's underlings will perform a mocking satire wherein the mortal's life is ridiculed. At the proper moment, the Fat Lady will indeed begin to sing, ushering the doomed on to the afterlife. Never a fallen angel, the Fat Lady more physically resembles the form of a demon. Since her Creation occurred after the Fall, she is not technically a hellion and takes orders from the Big Jew Upstairs. Her two underlings, Bad Baby Banana and Melancholy Molly, are demonic entities enrolled in a Heaven sponsored rehabilitation program. Those sculpts coming soon.
Re: Sing Choirs of Demons...The Fat Lady *new sculpt* One of those Fat Lady's better have my name on it. Bad Baby Banana and Melancholy Molly? The mind boggles!
Re: Sing Choirs of Demons...The Fat Lady *new sculpt* thanks guys plastichunter, i've got some things i've set aside with you in mind. some freebies for the man with the biggest Apocalypse Popsicle figure collection to date. one catch, please go post pics of what you already have in my other Uber Resin! thread. once you do the package will be in the mail.
Re: Sing Choirs of Demons...The Fat Lady *new sculpt* steve, i'm digging these. please alllow me to purchase a couple in clear resin so that I may desecrate them with my air brush.
Re: Sing Choirs of Demons...The Fat Lady *new sculpt* These are great! They're perfect for my xmass tree.
Re: Sing Choirs of Demons...The Fat Lady *new sculpt* oh oh oh, or as my boss would say, you are a supergenius! (he then follows that with, great minds think alike) what do you think, set of three with hooks embedded? Red, Green, white and all of them pearlescent with some gloss sounds about right. the other two sculpts wouldn't make much sense for the ole tannenbaum. so i won't rush them for that, but i could probably add a hook or metal loop pretty easily. maybe just remove them when the resin is still soft and screw a small eye screw in. seal the hole with some superglue. it would work. kirkland, email sent
Re: Sing Choirs of Demons...The Fat Lady *new sculpt* Fat Lady Crew now complete way more pictures and complete myth backstory at the blog http://apocalypsepopsicle.blogspot.com Bad Baby Banana and Melancholy Molly, underlings to The Fat Lady MM and BBB While not part of the storyline for these Bureaucracy of Death figures, Bad Baby Banana is my homage to this yokai, karakasa
Re: THE FAT LADY CREW *now complete, 3 sculpts* fine job.. really great stuff... digging Melancholy Molly
he certainly does. here's a quote from his description on the blog: "With a big shoe made for kicking ass, he loves to give unsuspecting butts the big banana boot. Unfortunately, following every successful wallop, Bad Baby Banana falls on his own ass. He's only got the one leg, after all." thanks for the words of support everyone. it is very encouraging to get positive feedback on my menagerie. i'm still trying to get a pour technique down where i can get resin only into the skullface first before pouring the rest of the color. the way i do it now gives me that nipplehead effect (although is quite hilarious for a mammary tip to be on the top of a phallus). of course if you choose the right colors, you can negate the dichotomy of male/female combined and swing it all towards the male. like this:
Saw these for the first time week before last and then again this week. So nice, and it was even Edward Gorey's b'day this week (in memoriam). Unfortunately, the blog sez gone and done. Another release anytime soon? Veeeeery cool resins!
thanks poysntixels (which i've always read as "poison tickles", is that correct?) I should be doing a Fat Lady Crew release in the next couple of months five custom sets. My current plan is to do small runs of custom sets for the FLC. If I hit upon a colorway that I think works exceptionally well, I'd then do a run of 5-10 sets in that colorway. I think the majority of my stuff will be custom-unique or unpainted with only a few identical batches.
Actually it is a spoonerism. toys 'n' pixels, but anything works as I expect to be shedding the id soon... Good news to hear that more will be coming... any chance for an unpainted release as you hinted in that next batch?
