Hey all, It's not from Japan, but it is from Asia, and it is my favourite piece in months to make its way into my collection, magnets, skeleton, lots of blood, what's not to love....have a look: http://toysrevil.blogspot.com/2010/05/general-zoo-demo-video-by-artoyz.html I think you can even still get the limited versions (54 pieces total) over here: http://artoyz.com/v21/indexShop.php?id=15&prod_id=4938 Enjoy!
it's definitely an interesting concept. The magnets are awesome. I changed my mind about this toy once I saw this video. I wish the colorways were cooler though. you can mix and match the pieces from different versions. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veRjeRLC ... r_embedded
Ok, now you've got me curious....witticisms aside lets hear some detailed critiques....i'm always interested to hear what you guys think cause half the time i can't understand what has the rest of you so excited
Shape of the toy reminds me of McSupersize toy. No good. The skull shape doesn't even match up with the cheesy, hair in the eyes head. The skull has almost no jaw. I mean, the jawbone lines up with the heads lower lip. No good. The head seems misplaced and poorly designed for the (actually pretty cool) Dune-like armor. Is it even poseable? Looks like it just has to stand there like that... The magnet idea is kinda cool I guess. Just my 2 cents.
1. Skull. 2. Blood splatter/drip. 3. Dissected. Been done and done again. 4. I can't even tell what it is. If it is a gorilla/monkey, add that to the list. 5. Looks like it belongs in some horrible American-made faux-anime. Cool if you like it. Just totally not something that fits on this board.
4. I can't even tell what it is. If it is a gorilla/monkey, add that to the list. this is my only problem with it. I can't tell what it is. and magnets rule...Bert is still a Fresh Meat
Haha...I've seen magnets on other toys much older than this and they work. This one is just really pointless. It would have been better if the piece somehow interlocked without the use of something else.
In theory it's not bad but the execution is poor to the point where it's become a horrific mish mash of different ideas none of which hold together.
