I just got a new gig, so I need to move back to LA! It's a 6 month thing, to start, so I'm not too sure about looking for a new apt with a year long lease just yet. Since this is SB there's a chance we won't hate each other! Throwin it out there Mods, if this is the wrong place to post this please let me know.
It's a weird request for SB. BUT as it's an LA based request and (very) loosely toy related I don't have a problem with it. Who knows it may even work Good luck on your move.
^^^^^^^^ Sounds like an invite to live with Carl to me. Send me a PM and I'll give you his address and where he hides his spare keys
Thanks for the go ahead and the luck Carl! When can I move in!? You hide your spare key under your neighbors welcome mat right?
^^^^^^ Gawd have mercy if it were the neighbor to the West of him... That place is one giant fucking pigeon bird house
Cat licking? I feel a retro "Are you being served" double-entendre moment coming on - but as this is skullbrain no one would laugh anyway. I have to save those jokes for work, the HR hot-line and in-person chuckles.
As you are referring to a 40 year old non-PC British sit-com chances are slim! Shades of On The Buses, Rising Damp, Love Thy Neighbour and It Ain't Half Hot Mum . . . gone but not forgotten!
Exactly! Strangely enough, are you being served is more remembered here than it is in the UK. Well it was as they were doing re-runs all the time. The others in your list are gone, but indeed not forgotten. I've always got Colin to remind me of all those old shows as well. The only stuff that gets me chuckling these days is Angry Boys, old Seinfleds, Veep, UK Office, first couple of seasons of Katherine Tate/little Britain, inbetweeners and certainly not pretty much anything running on the major channels here in the US. Is there anything funny on UK tv right now? Come to think of it, I did like the Rev.
The discussion on comedy is perhaps better moved to the thread here, but in any case I welcome the double entendres and horrible puns with glee. I gladly use them on here even when it is only myself chuckling away. I also might offer singular credit and thanks to WGBH (PBS) with managing to not only bring to the US market, but also sustain for decades, the fanbase of shows like Are you being served and Flying Circus. Without them taking an incredible gamble [at the time] on things like Monty Python, and keeping up the re-runs, there might not be whole generations of viewers for these shows.
