Schedule was announced, better then last year, but still sucks they are missing shit like Exorcist, Hellraiser, and other classics. http://blogs.amctv.com/movie-news/2010/ ... ickoff.php
Never cared for Fear Fest because all the films are heavily edited. I'd rather watch uncut classics on TCM.They're showing Hammer films every Fri. night this month plus a bunch of stuff on Halloween. If you have Netflix & a streaming device thats the way to go.They have a ton of cult horror that arent even on DVD plus all the classics.I cant believe I watched a clear print of Octoman!
TMC is where it's at! AMCs original programming is top notch, but calling yourself a movie channel and editing the movies doesn't make much sence to me.
Of course I agree the editing sucks. But its just a tradition for me, including the commercials and advertisements for it/during it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_WnVex6 ... re=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zs4DHQpO ... re=related
AMC hasn't been good at Halloween since they got bought out and show commercials and all that. They used to do Monsterfest, which showed all the classics, nothing beyond say 1972 or so, which is what you should be watching at Halloween. They used to have awesome trivia contests during that time, too. One year I won a DVD player and another a Palm Pilot, which I never used.
I watched it as Monsterfest too. Monsterfest X to me was one of the last great lineups http://img217.imageshack.us/f/2731nu1.jpg/ and classics for me will always include Halloween 1-5, Exorcist, Hellraiser etc.
I think the last great year was the one where it was 24 hours straight of a different monster every day - one day was all Frankenstein films, the next Dracula, etc. I remember not having a job at that time and pretty much all I literally did for a week was loaf around, eat Reese's peanut butter cups, and watch this.
