No doubt! Gargamel and Secret Base both brought it this year, but in the end it's Elegab that blew my mind!
What exactly did SB bring? A vinyl skull? Vinyl flasks? The new brain was about it, and that was only in the last couple months. Dont get me wrong, I love SB, but fight figures were their bread and butter and now not so much.
Skull Vampire, Recotoy Monster X, Best Of Balzac Bagmen, RI's to name but some - somehow my shelves are full of good stuff form SB released this year - and several of these got plenty of noms in best sculpt ctaegory also.
You beat me to it, Carl. I think I have gotten more figures this year from SB than any other company. (And I incl the Balzac skullman in the mix, as well.)
How much of that is new? How much of it blew your mind? Don't even get me started on the RI, I had one and think they look great but if Im going to pay $100 for a toy it better be able to stand up unassisted. I don't mean to sound confrontational, I guess we can agree to disagree.
Well I'm glad some people are digging SB's other stuff - I'd hate to see the support completely drop out from under them. There's just so little that I care for these days. I don't like their "colab" toys (Balzac, Pushead, Usugrow) or their "new line-up" of skulls, Dr. M, etc. Pretty much just like their original FF line-up and suits. The Recotoy was pretty cool though - I wouldn't buy one, but I was interested in the photos and conversation about it. I felt all of the other companies had more strong releases - but with that said I didn't buy anything from them and did buy a couple from SB.
elegab for such a fun and unique approach to his characters . plus great quality vinyl with great sprays buta no hana would have been my top choice , but elegab is definitely deserving for bringing something new and funky
