Thanks for posting some of your trip adventures. I must admit I am quite jealous, as I've always wanted to go to Japan! Toy heaven! Have a good trip out there, it's been raining cats and dogs here :)

It's pouring in Tokyo as well. Didn't stop me from going toy hunting at night. ;P

Interesting, but the prices here aren't way different from what we pay on YJA- especially for vintage. Maybe the pieces are in better condition. I didn't inspect them very closely. The fun is more in the experience of walking into Mandarake and seeing the wall of vintage vinyl toys.

Fuck that's embarrassing, but something I seem to constantly mix-up time and time again. Thanks for making me feel like an ass Alex. I really appreciate it. ;)

From this day forward I will refer to everything simply as "toy".

Nice toys Daniel. I especially like the little brown one that looks sort of like a sea creature of some sort.

Thanks again for sharing your Dino collection. I just had to adopt my own herd today at S7. It was nice to see them in real life--larger than I thought! I didn't see the green T-Rex at the shop, but I am very happy with my reptilian brood

I always eye them at S7.
The Buta Dinos are really great in a group.
    I love my GT set.

    Re: 2009 Collection [4/21 - Pairs]

Just a couple of nice pairs that came my way recently.

Grumble Toy's new Wormrah is really gummy and smooth- like the little strawberry milk candies in the white wrappers. The colors shine when you put him next to the first one. Both are highly recommended.

Love the colors and look of these all-clear Gargamesses... even the belts are clear! I try to stay away from fight figures, but the clears always get me. They look like something I could have won from Fun Factory as a kid. Did anyone else have Fun Factory or was it only in Hawaii?

    Re: 2009 Collection [4/21 - Pairs]

I don't really know where they came from, but I picked both up recently, loose.

My best guess is that they are unproduced test shots from the 2006 lucky bags. I've heard there was a clear green Gargamess from those bags- maybe the same one?

I suspect these are dyed, or teh green is a faded OG clear green.

    Re: 2009 Collection [4/21 - Pairs]

Did any of the OG clears come with clear belts? I couldn't find any photos of this.

I finally picked up the last Howaton that I needed to finish my set. Unlike their other sculpts, Skull Head Butt only made 3 versions of this one. A shame because it is a really kooky and wonderful toy- one thing I noticed is that the hands are sculpted in different positions, whereas most sculpts are symmetrical.

This toy is based on an old patchi-kaiju card, which itself was a rip on an image of Superu Seijin from the banned Ultra 7 episode.

(Card scan mirrored from the patchimono database.)

And some more Skull Head Butt! This is the infamous Triple-Q, with all three parts assembled. It's a brick.

    Re: 2009 Collection [4/26 - A Few Buttheads]

Good stuff, I was always sad they never did a GID Howaton. That metallic one is really something.

My Triple-Q is sadly left partially assembled as I became too frustrated to continue trying to put it together. I was able to manage the bodies but getting all the head seams to fit without undoing the previous layer is a real challenge.

I have the clear grey Gargamess, the belt is clear grey but buckle is painted silver.
The clears you scored are fantastic!

Interesting, thanks. I guess a dye job is not implausible, so I'll see if I can verify their origin.

@Yuck- I cheated and bought the preassembled Triple-Q. Their blog said something about not cutting your fingers off when you remove the flash, so I decided that was not the route for someone like me.

    Shit, man. Very, very nice.

You know where to go if you ever want to unload the Maziora Aurora or black proto (never even knew this existed!) Howaton (hint: me)!

I just noticed that Mogron has two different heads. Pretty interesting.
