Man, this one caught be by complete surprise waking up this morning. Tough to see such a fine actor and upcoming star gone at such a relatively young age. :( His film roles, even outside of Black Panther, were just incredible; you could really get a feel for the depth of his acting and delivery. I really enjoyed Da 5 Bloods, and of course having the opportunity to portray the legendary Jackie Robinson is no small honour. Like many I am sure, as it was never released publicly, I had no idea he was ill, and had been battling stage IV colon cancer since 2016 (fuck cancer!). Even more incredible to think of his key roles and rise to prominence in this time. His strength, courage, and will to not only continue to deliver, but give us such amazing performances is really something I will admire even more now. I am sad he has left this world, and for the loss we will all have by not getting to experience his further craft on screen. I join his family, friends, and fans in saying goodbye, and thank you for sharing your gift with us.

When I'm sculpting I usually turn on the tv for background noise. Either Gunsmoke or old Law and Order marathons. A couple of weeks ago law and order was on and Chad Boswick was there. Playing the all too typical teenage one-eyed gang banger drug dealing bad guy. I thought to myself how very impressive it was that he now gets to be the lead and the hero and a role model instead. Sad to see his story end so soon.

Lost a close friend a few years ago to colon cancer and knowing the daily difficulties they struggled with, Boseman's strength and resolve to deliver amazing performances are akin to that of a superhero.

I was looking forward to watching him for decades to come, truly a heartbreaking loss.

    Fuck cancer!

My Tio passed away from colon cancer, after battling for four years, when the doctors gave him less than two. He went into remission for an amount of time I’m unsure of, before it came back even more aggressive. As Kerk mentioned, knowing and seeing the daily struggles was something I couldn’t believe my Tio still smiled at us through. The fact that Chadwick Boseman kept it from the public, and delivered wonderful performance after performance, is an incredible demonstration of strength and ability. I saw photos of him from a couple years ago, visiting kids in St. Judes, now knowing he was battling his own cancer. Just...wow. A massive and heartbreaking loss of such a young and talented man.

I saw this a couple years ago when I think it first aired, but I saw it again last night on Instagram TV. Obviously I can’t speak from a personal standpoint, but I don’t think it can go unstated, or be overstated enough, how much his role in Black Panther means to Black communities. Made me tear up more than the first viewing, knowing he’s now gone. But this is his legacy.

I believe the recommended age for colonoscopies is 50, lowering to 45 is being considered as the new recommended age. But if you have family history. best to go even earlier.

I remember our retired Chief of Gastroentorology's voice mail message always made me laugh when I called him. He would trick you into thinking he answered and he would remind callers that his job is to, "Rope 'em. dope 'em and scope 'emI" He had a sense of humor and always made patients feel at ease when they do these procedures.

    Inside A Colon

My hospital dedicates time for awareness and they pull out this giant inflatable colon to remind members to get screened.

Chadwick Boseman unfortunately succumbed to this disease and the world lost more than actor but a positive role model for many, not just kids. So get checked toy nerds! I always tease Nate by telling him "something" is going up the butt hole sooner or later. ;)
