Well they got greedy and thought ppl wouldn't notice if they cut corners. Sadly it's becoming more common with video games. Hopefully the next pokemon game to come out will be a better one. Here's hoping the new Animal Crossing and Metroid Prime 4 will be awesome.
Playing Luigi’s Mansion 3 with my wife right now. It’s fun, but I can tell it’s going to be really short, and probably won’t have any replay value.
Done with Luigi's Mansion (except for some bonus modes we still need to try out). On to God of War (PS4). It's a fun game so far, but the obstacles often seem arbitrary. A lot of it boils down to not being far enough through the main story to have the specific tool you need. So, there are times when a side quest that sounds fun pops up, but I know it would be better to skip it and come back after finishing the main game. That way, I don't have to make a bunch of return trips. The dialog can be a bit repetitive, too. We get it, Kratos. You don't like to talk about your feelings.
Jumping around a bit. I finally beat the Dragonborn DLC for Skyrim, all these years later. Also jumped back into Rayman Legends. That’s an underrated and underpriced game.
Guess what?!! SURPRISE!!Now you can spend even MORE money on missing Pokemon and content they left out!!!
I've been playing witcher 3. Man, I get why it was game of the year. Amazing. But really hard. Which is why i'm playing on easy. I wish I had more time for video games.
Just picked up the Sega Genesis (Megadrive for yins outside the US/Canada) Classic. Comes stock with about 50 games. Just hacked that sucker and now rolling with about 180 games! (Its an emulator in a tiny Sega look-a-like shell). Granted this is not legal I'm assuming- but it extends the playability and reason to even buy this thing. Controllers are exactly like the originals and feel great! Won't post the details on here but now I can play Pulseman, Alien Soldier, and Undeadline! Worth every penny
Since posting about it, I have managed to play the sum total of zero hours. I have, however, found time to play Gran Turismo Sport alongside my son on his new PS4. As GT is now considered an old game (I assume it was a launch title for the PS4?), we picked it up new for £9.00; that is an awful lot of game for under £10
I bought Resident Evil 2 Remake for $24. It's freaking amazing! It's a bit harder than the original at certain points. Gonna play the second game with Claire tonight. The only complaint I got with it so far is the redesign of the plant monsters. I prefer the classic designs more. Classic Design Redesign
Finally purchased a switch and enjoying Luigi's Mansion...nextup Zelda! Been taking a break from new Borderlands on XBOX
World of Warcraft, and I’m not happy about the new patch at all. The new content added like... 40min of gameplay a day. They’re also timegating the new raid. Lame on so many levels.
@BIGDZ68 @Mr Fox - My wife talked me into doing completion run on BOTW with her. Between collecting the materials to fully upgrade every armor set and tracking down every Korok seed...it adds up. The rest of it I thought was pretty reasonable, but those two collections take weeks (or months) to finish. @hellointerloper - I get into WoW off-and-on. Progression content is too stressful for me, and I get burnt out on farming for rare mounts/transmog, though. I get addicted for about 6 months at a time, every two or three years. Not currently playing. I fired up Skyrim and played this weekend. I don't know why. I am trying out the "Legacy of the Dragonborn" mod. It adds a museum to Solitude and encourages you to go explore, to fill it up. I'm finding myself getting caught up in the same rut I always do - spending more time on inventory management, crafting, selling, etc. than on actual adventuring.
I've been wanting to do a 2and playthru. Doing my 2and playthru of DkS right now, on the remaster for switch
Yes, you can speed run it but that, imho, would be missing the point. Like you, I went back and did all the Korok seeds, as well as the armour sets and various other side-quests (including the expansion) and all of it was enjoyable. BotW was one of the few games that I was constantly amazed at how well rounded the world was; from the weather patterns to watching the sun rise whilst you were on the top of a mountain, visually it never ceased to impress.
Unpopular opinion - I think the weather & spawn system in Pokemon SwSh is neat. There's a large hub area with smaller "biomes" that rotate conditions every few hours. Then, depending on the weather, three things change: field condition, weather condition, and spawn table. I will be playing both of the expansions. I can't defend everything GameFreak did with this game, but I've had fun with it so far. I grew up with it, and never skipped a generation, so maybe a big part of that is nostalgia blinders.
I think I liked it throughout, but maybe the production values won me over. It gets better; the character development in particular makes makes it one of the strongest games of the decade for me. Ambient dialogue definitely became a highlight after maybe 3-4 hours in, when the game opens up. Also, I don't think sidequest rewards scale with your current level. So if something interests you I'd recommend checking it out once you have the tools to do so. I remember wrapping up a couple of things in late game and finding the payoff underwhelming.
Speaking about games big E-shop sale on the Switch right now. I picked up Dead Cells myself. Great game so far. Highly addictive Dark Souls 2D combat. Also imma gonna be checking out the Sonic movie later this after noon.
