The fugliest toys you have seen while collecting.

^^ It just comes down to what your idea of fugly sofubi is. I personally don't think its all that 'fugly' either, but I think the big reason it was posted here was perhaps to do with the fugliness of person who made it.

 

@The Moog Touché! I mean, this entire thread, hell, this entire hobby is subjective. Admittedly they’re both well executed, I just find the design itself to be aesthetically gross. But I can totally relate to the “this person sucks, so now their toys suck” mentality!

 

Yeah. I look at it and see a Gorilla Ju body with Plastic Man's head poking out the top. Also, there appears to be a waffle iron stuck into the top of his head, for some reason.

Yeah, but not "this person sucks, so now their toys are ugly". There's a whole other thread for talking about Chinese bootleggers.

 

@kappa I’ve been educated by this board where the aforementioned two are derivative from, thankfully, but the current inspired outcomes are still bad in my eyes. And a bootlegger can suck just as much as a toy maker to me as a good toy maker can suck as a person. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

i didnt think there was confusion as to where the toy was derived from. but both hxs and this new guy failed to capture the charm of the og's box art even. i don't think either are fugly as sculpts but the paint app seems like a bad call

 

Nah the reason I posted it was based purely on its visual shitness.
The sculpt is boring ,I hate the fried egg eyes and sausage fingers.The paint job is dead too.If the guy who made it is a prick then that is no surprise.

 

Yeah, I never said it wasn't bad... I can't really get my head around that last sentence but I'm pretty sure we're in agreement.

I find 90% of modern vinyl toys ugly and/or derivative so am in no way qualified to say what should or shouldn't be in the Fugly thread

the trump figure came out even more interesting because they somehow shrank(?) one leg so they are unable to stand. not to mention the factories down in mexico are unable to capture heavy detail yet as their main molding is for rubber ducks and dolls.
