What I've been up to lately... My article "Spaced Out about Micronauts Toys!" - http://www.centipedepress.com/anthologies/wfreview7.html My article and interview "Visceral Visual Wizardry – the iconic Dungeons & Dragons artwork of Erol Otus" - http://www.centipedepress.com/anthologies/wfreview8.html and Weird Fiction Review #9 will feature my article "The Horrific History of H.R. Giger’s Alien Toys!" focusing on toys from the first two films. Weird Fiction Review is edited by World Fantasy Award winner S.T. Joshi and is published by Centipede Press The record label is moving forward slowly but surely at www.lasthurrahrecords.com Plus I've been selling more horror fiction and poetry but that's a hard sell here! I'm also going to have a big sale soon - lots of vintage Tiger Mask plus more.
OG started out on the best of terms...Then went on a rampage and deleted all threads from a board member who had a difference in opinion. Very Trump like...least not the minority forget. That being said...best of luck. All is forgotten.
Anything tangible? I still have the horror zine you did lots of work on way back when. Any new zines or collections like that available? I am not a fan of reading stories/books online. If I don't have the skin of a murdered tree between my fingers it's just not the same.
Once you claimed me to be "Holier than thou" and it takes zero efforts to type. What takes effort is living, learning and repeating. If Chad and Jason saw their peace, why can't you? Chad that was nice to read the Micronauts piece, I wonder if MEGO can eventually relaunch their majestic series?
Bryce, I am sorry about that. Waterbear, this is my writer's page on Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/Chad-Hensley/e/B005CANOJC/ref=sr_ntt_srch_lnk_1?qid=1533221890&sr=8-1 There are lots of horror anthologies and magazines listed that I have work in. Kichigai, thanks. I assume you are referring to the article in Weird Fiction Review #7? You know that Mego is relaunching and will soon be available at Target? Maybe, they will get around to the Micronauts if all goes well.
I already beat you to the punch. I posted one of the toys in the "Non Vinyl American Toys" section. You can see it over there lmao. I still don't think the toys are nearly as good as say something more expensive like what the Four Horsemen can make but Mego is an interesting relic toy non the less. What I am interested to see if they can get a hold of more Marvel and DC franchises for characters in the 8 inch line. Cause as of right now they only have DC characters in the 16 inch line.
Marty Abrams sold the micronauts rights to Marvel not long ago. I think it’s a no-go for the new Mego now.
Yeah, Hasbro sold some convention-exclusive Micronauts toys back in 2016, plus there is a film coming up that is part of a "Hasbro-verse" series including MASK, Visionaries, and whatever other forgotten toy lines they had lying around.
In my Micronauts article in Weird Fiction Review #7, I discuss Mego, Takara Microman, PAC Toys' Lords of Light, Hourtoy's The Interchangeables, Gig's I Micronauti, Palisades Micronauts Retro Series, SOTA's never to appear Micronauts: Evolution, and Hasbro's Micronauts toys released at SDCC 2016. The goal with all my toy articles in Weird Fiction Review is that the average horror fiction reader and extreme super toy nerd will both be entertained and enlightened. There are lots of tidbits sprinkled throughout the article and my hope is that even the most hardened toy maniac will learn something new...
