Five Points Festival - 2020

I fly across tomorrow!

Proper psyched for my first toy show. Hopefully by Saturday I’ll have acclimatised to the heat (being Scottish means I’ll spend most of my time hiding in the shade to avoid the sun).

Hopefully I’ll bump into some of you fine folk in the various queues.

 

i’ll be boolin’ over at booth 339 with grizlli, izumo and ishi! i’ll be offering micro runs of PK and MVH. but theres gonna be SO MUCH good stuff im gonna go broke

I’ll be sharing a booth with Johan of Deathcat Toys- same as last year. Tons of Japanese goodies and keshi items from all of Johan’s friends as well

 

I’ve been searching sites and Instagram and haven’t found many releases yet. The instinct toy raffle line on the layout made me laugh.

I didn't get anything at Instinct Toy last year, so I don't know how sales went, but the lotto idea doesn't seem so terrible. It appears to break up the big ticket sales into scheduled mini-queues, thereby freeing you up to wait on another line instead.

Of course, you had to enter this thing last week...with a photo ID. So we'll see how it plays out.

 

Instinct had a crazy amount of things gone really quickly last year. Punkdrunkers needs a raffle line I had no clue about the raffle happening already.

How much does everyone have budgeted for the weekend? Not knowing all of the releases I feel as if my budget is going to be too low. I spent around $1250 last year. I'm concerned I will spend a lot more if I get in early.

 

Just got here and there’s about 20 people in line ahead of me. Brought an extra large sleeping bag in case anyone wants to come get cozy.

 

I can't go to five points fest because I'm in the west coast but this one is telling me to dive

punk drunkers, skulltoys, and goccodo usually sell together at DCON, I am assuming it is the same for Five Points. I don't think they can do raffles since there is so many people... last year at DCON they started selling one hour later after everyone got in, so everybody will get a fair chance. they told people to not line up but when I came at the time they said they would start selling, there was already a line around the room. when it was my turn to buy, aitsu and sharkman were all sold out. so if you are going for the Japanese stuff I would recommend lingering around even if they tell you not to. You just need to linger until they say the word "ok guys line up"

Heats driven me back to my hotel but had a cracking first day. Didn’t have to queue for anything I wanted and got pretty much everything I was after before the main doors had even opened.

 

had a room and everything but had to get out of brooklyn before doors opened for some family issues- jeez! hope i didn't miss much (ha) hope yawl had a great day
