Did anyone participate in the roshambo / rock-paper-scissor tournaments? I forgot what toys they were for, probably Shirahama.

I don’t have nothing negative to say about Dcon as I had a great time and pretty much scored all I wanted, there is always going to be unhappy people regardless on how sales are done.
I did like that Gargamel did a lotto sale for the first time to let everyone have a chance to win something, so I think they was a good idea from them.
Pushead brought enough toys to make everyone in line happy, that was awesome.
The surprise Bone Usir red set from Splurrt made my day on Saturday as Lulubell booth was my first stop. Grabbed a Clyde head from Brandt Peters no problem.
Paul’s booth never disappoints Saturday was a little crazy but overall went well.
    Sunday’s lotto was much smoother.
Those booths were my top priority, everything else was a bonus. So many good toys to chose from, many artists from overseas.
I wanted to buy lot of more stuff but I couldn’t afford it, whoever I am so happy with my haul.
Hope moving the Convention to Anaheim works out well. We all will miss Pasadena though.
Looking forward to next year Dcon!

It was for Shirahama x Chanoma Gangu wolf dudes and three Ishumaru. I unfortunately didn’t get to witness the fun, as I was forced to go to Santa Ana just before the games initiated. I heard it was a lot of fun, though!

A typical trade show booth is 10x10 which is 100 square feet. So if their booth is going to be 5500 square feet then their booth would be equivalent to 55 booths!! Not sure where the 16 or 5500 numbers are coming from but something isn't adding up.

Finally got around to listening to the podcast and WOW!! DCon is really going to be a totally different beast this year. THREE times bigger than last year, new location, annnd Medicom with a huge presence. I wasn't planning on going but now I'm considering my options. Anyone interested in DCon should have a listen. Ben really knows what he's doing!

Stoked about Medicom being there, I couldn't give a rat's ass about Funko though. "They aren't selling Pops! at DCon" it's said, but the cereal boxes contain small Pops, so....

other vendors have and will have pops for sale. so it seems kind of funny to single out that market on the retail front, yet give the flipper booths a voice to sell it.
Many i've spoken to have mixed emotions on how this is all going. From Ben's perspective i'm sure this is amazing. bigger show, bigger dollars...
Having been there since like the second VTN ever though... yeah i've seen this grow pretty substantially over the years. im all for growth... but how many years left do we have until this feels more commercial versus organic?

My thoughts and speculations are exactly like yours Mike. Seeing it grow is great, but we've also been there and seen sdcc grow and outgrow individuals and smaller companies. I'd like to think that Dcon knows its grassroot/lowbrow/whatever subculture and will continue to support these individuals. With the growth to Anaheim, I'm hoping to see a lot more booths with great artists.

Megan and I will have a booth, we'll buy some Pops to resell to all of you that are after them ;)

Even if they were it wouldn't offend me since I do buy them. Intersted to see if they will have any Hikari offerings though!

Also 3A will be there! So awesome Pacha dolls, Fang Girl vinyls and WWR Robots galore. :D:thumbsup:

Denboku would be near impossible, as they'd have to get US licenses for the characters they produce.

Ilu Ilu would be interesting, and not completely unheard of. They did do a release with Super7 (and Grumble Toy in Canada) in the past, so they have had US releases before. Also, AngelAbby has had a Dcon booth and they have had several Ilu Ilu releases.

Excited to see all the homies, we'll see how the convention goes. Watching it increase so drastically last year was insane, and I'm kinda bummed that the show space has grown so large, not for a due lack of toys, but just the sheer amount of people it attracts, as last year was already hectic enough. I'm curious to see how it'll go all around, I'm hoping it'll be reasonable, but we shall see.
