Then these will not be on the coveted list :)

    Hahaha seriously..

...Straight to the sales thread with all that hot garbage...

But honestly hoping for a big run of these. I could care less about limitedness, especially in this case. I'd like to own just one HS ape, one mech and I'll be a happy camper.

People concerned about the worth of a toy being curbed by bigger/open runs are just silly. Bring on the apes damnit!!

I am probably in the minority that is more excited by this news than the collaborations with Pushead or the usual HxS projects. This is really interesting to see where it might go, given Hirota-san's obvious appreciation for the history of the medium (through his father), and whether this could mark an entry into licensed characters (unproduced or not). Very cool to see, and I remain tentatively excited, but I wouldn't necessarily make any judgements at this point about the the availability/pricing on the aftermarket - see the Marusan project as probably a good analogue, and it is not like (although the HxS 'audience' might not have any clue) that Bullmark toys themselves are not in demand. It's all relative though I suppose.

That clear Brutal A is absolutely gorgeous, I love the green color. And it looks kinda similar, I can definitely see it.

i wonder why the choice to put the pristine wood parts on scuffed up vinyl pieces?

    I'm guessing for contrast!

Haroshi's done a few prosthetics and 'repairs' on older toys (Kewpies, mascot toys etc) over the years and this seems like a natural evolution.

I guess it's kinda like giving them a second life . . . like the skateboards he uses.

Most of the toys in the show were old, original beaten-up vintage classics (T28, Ultraman, Tiger Mask etc) . . . the 2 x HxS were the only 'modern' sofubi he blagged from Hirota's factory . . . they were intentionally distressed, sanded, scuffed and thrown across the workshop so they'd fit in with everything else.

OK I feel like sharing so here us go.......

New Robot is actually another remake of a 1960's property that others are also making sofvi of:

I like the KK Toy version even though it has the one hairy arm. But I like the HxS much more. The new gorilla is also very nice.

Brutal Monsters version looks the best of the 3 I have seen thus far.

I like the bootleg vibe of the KK Toy version and adore the SOP mini version since it fits in my pocket

Wonder if any of these guys will remake the antique Samson Robot as well?
