Nice pics and thoughtful gift Robert! You are doing that kougai justice and seem to have perfected the kaijufinn treatment. I am jealous of your skills man. This one is interesting to me because it is GID paint rather than GID vinyl, at least that is how I interpret it. In hand it's a clear/slightly milky wash over parts of the fig that is not very visible until the lights go out. You don't see that used very often.
Thanks, guys. It's definitely going to a super good dude and a great friend! It's definitely GID paint over the top. I've never seen GID paint used, ever, let alone to such mass coverage. Really awesome effect, though!
Thanks for posting these shots, I had no idea that kougai was GID. I assume we're talking about GID paint here, right? Edit: opps, sorry just saw your response.
Fantastic Kougai, Robert! That is one amazing version of an already nice toy. The green is stunning, and it is really quite a striking paint job in my opinion. Your friend is going to be one very happy (and lucky) fellow. The GID paint is actually preferred by me, to a GID vinyl base. The effect is much nicer, but especially along the back, with the 'waste' trickling down like that - simply phenomenal work. I really dig him. Your excellent photos have really done this guy some incredible deserved service, so thanks for taking the time to capture him and share with us @xSuicide Squadx.
Thank you very much! My friend was extremely happy and all smiles upon receiving the Kougai! Initially, I had known there was GID paint running down the back, emulating the waste running down. I had no idea the entire Kougai was coated, so it was a wonderful surprise, one I was extremely happy to divulge to the recipient! A first for me seein' this, though I'd definitely love to see it more often! I'm glad my photos serve these toys justice. They certainly do serve justice in terms of the creative output and impressiveness!
Nice Robert! Love the different color green sludge streams on the back of the green kougai's head. It's a nice touch. I forgot to drag my polluted Christmas card over from IG.
Thanks, you guys! I'm pretty excited to finally have Kougai of my own in the household. These are insanely fun toys, and the paint apps...just brilliant. @Russblue11, this green one is currently up on Mandarake, though the obvious price tag accompanies it. @wretchrd cp I'm a pretty big sucker for red vinyl with black sprays. There's just something so evil about it to me, and it's also my favorite color combination. @Michael Beverage That Bemon on the right is phenomenal. I love, love, love the metallic body and the red "virus" sprays in every nook. The one on the left has that genius, random spray pattern of colors, too. And Bemon's use of metallic paints is just awesome.
^Congrats, that red one is a beaut! I know what you mean with being a sucker for certain color combos. With me it's mainly bright red vinyl and metallic blue sprays.
@EastEndFrontier I think that's also one of the best combinations. I can't remember which toy I saw that got me wide eyed on it, but metallic blue on glossy, red vinyl just POPS so hard. It's definitely not used enough, in my opinion!
Not sure if you have posted it elsewhere, but could you take a step back and photograph the setup you use... the tent or whatever it is? Thanks!
I just use two fluorescent halogen bulbs in Ikea lamps and a lightbox my buddy got off of eBay. It's just taken me forever to play around with the lighting and backdrops used, as well as settings on my camera.
Two very nice kougai, congratulations! Any chance you could post some back shots to have a look at the sludge?
Nope, kougai tend to stay in the collection. I think to date I've traded away one blank brown and one clear, and I miss both of them ..so no more kougai are being released to the wild for a long time!
No sign of the latest Marilla anywhere on the board so I'll add this shot I found on IG... Sorry, can't remember who took this but I really like this version
