Hello, I'm Patrick from NY. I've been lurking around SB for a few months now and finally got approved for membership a couple weeks ago. You may have seen my IG handle (PatrickNLeon) popping up liking your posts on IG. I'm a big fan of Bwana Spoons, Uamou, Kenth Toy Works, and countless others. I'm currently collecting Killers (of all kinds), Suns of Brodarr, Escaregot, Uamou, and anything else I find visually interesting. I'm not about hyped up platforms/artists and I'm not about drama, I see a sculpt and/or paint app that I like and I go for it. I'm also an aspiring sculptor and toy maker myself and I look forward to contributing to the community in a meaningful way. I plan on posting some pics of my collection and creating a wanted thread soon. Until then, I'll be lurking. Thanks for having me.
It is with mixed feelings I welcome fellow Killer collectors, but I can at least say you have great taste.
Hey guys! I'm Chris from CT but a few of you know me from my Instagram page "FrankensteinsRobot" I'm a long time collector of action figures and vinyl, happy to be here and I look forward to chatting with you all and sharing all the toy knowledge I might have as well as learning new things from all of you! I'll see you around the board- I plan on sticking around here for a while!
Hey hey im dave or chaingun! been a member for a while but haven't done any posting really. Im a thirty year old artist working from Bristol UK. just starting to get into painting vinyl in a big way. My personal collections pretty varied lots of threea and random vinyl with some random hot toys and stuff mixed in.
Hey guys, my names Calvin, I live in Albuquerque NM. Tight to finally get on the board, I certainly enjoyed DCON for the first time this year and met a few of you there.
Hi everyone! Been lurking on this site for — well — years, but finally decided to get a bit more interactive. Or, at least, try to. Historically, I've never been really great at the whole forum thing. I think quite a few of you know me, but for those that don't… I'm a 39-year-old native New Yorker that collects toys. Bought my first Devilman figs in the mid-'90s and the rest is history. And yes, I've had this account for over 2 years and never posted with it. Plus I was just a plain ol' lurker without an account for god knows how many years before that…
Hi Nick! How's everything going over there at Clutter, gearing up for the xmas show? I was thinking about making the trip up if I can, I've got my eye on those Uamou pieces
Hi kids, I'm Martin from Sweden. Yup, I've also lurked around for a while without registering. Maybe someone knows me from Instagram, I post as @nonsense_and_treason. Not a hardcore collector of anything as of yet. I'm relatively new to the game and there's just so much great stuff out there! I want a bit of everything... BLObPUS and Real X Head were my first Japanese pieces, still have a soft spot for them both. I like Zollmen, Yamomark, Buta no Hana, MVH. M1GO cause they're great fun AND in my price range... Grody Shogun. And Ultraman, Ultraman stuff from the 80s. Would love to get more into vintage kaiju/super robot stuff (Mazinger is a childhood favorite...), sadly I don't really have the economy for that atm.
You should, man. The xmas show is going to be killer. UAMOU, BUKIMI BLASTERS, SLAVExONE, lots of great stuff…
Hello everyone! I'm Michel from the Netherlands. I've been lurking this board occasionally for some years now and decided it was about time to finally register. When it comes to collecting vinyl figures, I'm relatively new to the game. I've been collecting another form of vinyl for years though: records. Not surprisingly, my first vinyl toys were bands/music related. Especially the Super7 Gorilla Biscuits figures got me excited when they were first released. Ever since, I slowly got to learn more about vinyl toy collecting and at times I purchased certain specific toys. In the past year, I got into collecting a broader range of figures. This board has helped me gathering information on collecting vinyl figures a lot and I've always enjoyed browsing many great posts and pictures. See you all around and thanks for reading!
Whats up fellow dweebs, I'm Scott, I've been collecting on and off for years, mostly vintage and designer toys, just getting into sofubi this past year. More so than collecting vinyl I've put together a decent airbrush set up and been making and painting some toys of my own. I have an instagram I've been posting some pictures of my projects on, I haven't shared it with anyone yet but since this seems to be the place to find people who will have more meaningful things to say about it, it's : _SDX_
I'm a 29 year old female human from Australia. My name is Jessi. I was mega jealous of my friend's brothers toys as a kid and always thought boys got the coolest stuff so when I started earning money, I began collecting all the things I wished I had as a kid. I collect a lot of toys based on 80's and 90's cartoons like Masters of the universe, TMNT, Thundercats, The Real Ghostbusters, Madballs, Toxic Crusaders, Street sharks etc. I also love old horror and classic monster related stuff and have began just buying neat looking monsters, aliens and ghosts no matter what they're from. The less realistic, wackier and more brightly coloured, the better. I recently discovered kaiju and sofubi while hunting down a godzilla for my collection and stumbling upon the M1 1974 turquoise vinyl wars version. Mind was blown. Since then, I've bought way too much. My most favourite recent addition being the green Zollmen Maza. Looking forward to talking to all you other huge nerds with Peter Pan syndrome.
Welcome Jessi, nice to have more people from this part of the world here on Skullbrain. Looking forward to seeing photos of your collection.
Hi everyone. Colin from CA, just starting out collecting and painting. Still absorbing all the awesome stuff on the board
Welcome to all the new blood! Out of curiosity, has someone been going around telling people to join Skullbrain? I've activated probably 5 times more new accounts in the last couple weeks than I normally do.
I would guess it's the upcoming skullbrain clutter show having that effect. I've seen it advertised in more then a few places so it is probably drawing people here.
Hi Sb, long time listener first time caller. My names Tyler I am a collector from Los Angeles Ca. I've been into toys since I was kid but have had a resurgence recently upon discovering PK, Mvh and the like. So yeah I'm a band wagoner feel free to berate me with back in my day stories and shit. @tyler_the_photgrapher on ig if you wanna see my ugly mug! Shouts to James for the activation, and my proximity to TAG and S7 for the heads up on a really cool thing that's been happening in the toy world.
