I have that one. I got it off eBay for $20 shipped. Just seems to be a prototype Skull Brain with a squishy brain. The arms seem longer on this one than other Brains to me.
^^ No, it's a Fan Club 100 point figure. Looks like the black w/ silver spray Hiddy handpaints from around 2007 (?). I think there was more than one of each figure released this way, but the paint may have differed slightly between figures.
Oh, wow. I didn't even notice the silver at all! Good call, Daniel. I also didn't even know this existed.
Also, most "prototype" versions aren't prototypes or test shots, in the original sense of the word. They're just unpainted pulls - usually in fairly large numbers.
Oh, I know they're not literally prototypes. I just take the names as Secret Base uses them, as I'm sure by Daniel's definition, as a general blank/unpainted release. Kinda gives it a cool name to call it for me, too.
I get that, and it's probably not as big a deal in this hobby as in others, since so few protos from the development process or even test pulls make it out into the wild. Would be cool if that happened - could add another really interesting element to collecting.
I read the explanation card. I know what it says. I'll tell you for $750 paypal to skullbraintranslations@gmale.com
It says "congratulations for 100p" (I don't know what that means) "this toy was produced as a test shot to sample (new) colors. because of that, if you find any defects in the color or paint, it cannot be exchanged for a new one."
So I put a bit of elbow grease into it. The GID Brain's insert says something like "The toy comes with a number...." And then...I think I got it. "More information on the SB HP" (Secret Base Homepage). Exciting stuff!
I translated the white card of this image: Here is a full translation: 100P達成おめでとうございます! Congratulations for attaining (the) 100P! (or accomplishing 100p; literally: "We congratulate for the attainment of 100p!") このTOYは、テストショットやカラーサンプルTOYを利用して制作されております。 This toy was produced as a test shot and color sample. その為、カラーのムラや塗装の剥がれによる交換は致し兼ねます。 Because of that, if the case where the coloring is uneven or the paint is coming off, it cannot be exchanged for a new one.
Either we're looking at different things (I'm looking at the white card with black text over the figure), you didn't understand what you read, or you made a poor attempt to discredit me with straight up lies. edit: i guess you were just screwing with me. very good, made me all sweaty thinking I mistranslated something.
I wasn't, and relax. I have no interest in "straight up lying" about you - sheesh. After your snarky payment post, I thought you were sarcastically mistranslating the GID Brain insert to stir the pot. Then I checked out the 100P figure's insert, got what you were doing, and edited my post and did my own translation of the Brain insert - but not before you quoted what I had first written. So I guess you took a while typing your post.
OMG.. I'm so sorry. I'm just so used to be attacked here. And I set myself up because my post before I made the translation was making fun of my previous post about 10 cent translations which everyone attacked. Yes, you're absolutely right: It says that there is a number attached to the toy (in this case it's the orange "0" I presume) and asks to visit the website for more information.
