Hello Jerks and Jerkettes, my name is Joël, I'm 27 years old, live in the Netherlands and I own the shop Mintyfresh. I hate animals, flowers and sunlight and I make a lot of tyop's. I consider myself a virgin in the Japanese vinyl scene and the few pieces I own are mainly Restore, Secret base and lately Instinctoy, the rest of my collection probably sucks. Peace.
Hi everyone, I collect kaiju, urban vinyl, and resin figures. My interest's vary widely from neo Kaiju to cute and creepy. I'm a huge fan of Jeff Lamm's Greasebat, M5 bravo, Guumon's Kronk Zombie and Daigomi but I am also into the Circus Posterus stuff like Skelves, Kuma's, and Stingy Jack. Also a big fan of Squadt, Trouble boys, and Young Gohst's. And I collect resins with skulls and bones inside like the Willkowski stuff, Angry Woebots, Dynamite Rex, and so on... This looks like great forum to be part of with so many people of simular interests TOYS!
Good day to you SB! My name is Sam and I'm from foggy old London, England. I have been lurking for a while ever since I found the resonators romper room on SB thru searching for info on resin casting my own stuff (at which I suck) but have been aware of S7 for longer. I started with a foster but had him in a drawer for a few months as I wanted more S7 bits to display him with, a buddy then gave me a datarock and I got a few bits from the awesome hiphoprobottattoo, (not sure if his SB name?) and now have a few nice bits (well I love them) but always after more! Pocket size guys seem to appeal to me most. But I do love them micros... I draw and sculpt a fair bit so feel free to check my Instagram (stklbck) and I'm always up for collaboration so feel free to ask.
Hello everyone, I am happy to come in to this forum and share with others what they have the same fondness for vinyl figures. I collect Kaiju and Sofubi mainly, but lately I'm very interested in the Bootleg and Vintage Sofubi. Do not have to much time with this hobby, no more than a year so I'm going to bother with many questions. Thank you and best regards!
This thread is specifically about vintage bootlegs, might save you some questions: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=46080
Welcome to the forum. I believe I have already added you to the bootleg group on flickr, but if you have a collection of vintage toys, or even just a few, we always enjoy seeing them here too. The best advice is to spend some time reading over the various subtopics and getting familiar with the environment here.
Thanks Ultrakaijub and Lixx for your welcome, really does not have much vintage in fact for now I only have a Jetter Mars Popy (1970) and I am expecting a Tiger Mask the orange mask one and Triton boy bootleg who apparently also is vintage it has no header only comes in bag. Thanks to all and best regards!
I saw this devilman sell for ¥ 15,000 and another with a diferente header (purple monsters) for ¥ 26,000, why the difference? Unfortunately I could not find the link of the other Devilman figure.
Welcome to SB, Alebrije, I think you'll find it easier to address vintage questions at the vintage forums, and in this case, the devilman questions in the devilman thread. viewtopic.php?f=30&t=41691&hilit=devilman
Axolotl Thanks for your welcome and I hope you have patience with me because I do not yet know all the rules of the forum. Best regards!
Hello. 40ish female monster collector here. My passion is folklore and myth, so I tend to focus on folkloric, mythical, and cryptozoological monsters rather than film creatures. But I love anything unusual, especially hybrid creatures. I am hoping that hanging around on this board might help me find some really hard-to-find figures I long for desperately. I'm been able to find much of what I want by lots of googling and checking out yahoo japan and ebay, But some things continue to elude me, such as the Marmit mini cryptids (both sets - absolutely desperate for these) and the Marmit mothman figures. Also Marmit Biollante rose in blue/pink (another one I long for like crazy), and a few of the Yamomark Barabaran figures (monster flowers appeal to me too). I also love Negoras, particularly the posable King Negoras and I have been looking like crazy for that blue translucent one. Also - anything luminous. I am not really into Godzilla, but I REALLY want those Marasun club luminous ones. Just so luminous! I have collected mostly gashapon figures until now (esp Japanese yokai) so this is my first foray into the larger vinyl. Love Demon's Chronicle and am pretty close to having that set complete at last. Love yokai netsuke and all kinds of little monsters. Love cryptozoology figures such as those by Heart and Medicom and collect club. Love lots of color and strangeness. One thing I really need to figure out is how to do better searches on yahoo japan and Mandrake shop (my first visit there was today). I know enough to use google translate to search in japanese, but I can't seem to figure out how to do searches that involve more than one word or (on mandrake) how to search in a specific category only. I can't wait to look around and see everyone's collections! Cindy
Welcome to the board Cindy. You are off on a great start. Regularly stalking Mandarake and YJA will turn up a lot of what you are after, and even through sales on the board. Stuff like the Marmit Mothman, cryptids, and the Yamomarks, do come up for sale now and then. The Negoras are actually very abundant on the Mandarake site, as the releases have been coming fast and furiously over the past year. There are a few different yokai threads on here already that you might also be interested in, and you can start off with the collection one here (named a bid oddly, so you might not have been able to spot it at first glance ). A couple other things: Pilot Ace has done a few yokai figures as well as some mythological stuff (mainly Harryhausen creatures), and there is a thread for all things Marmit as well. Enjoy the forum, there is plenty to discover!
Welcome Cindy! Have you seen Marmit's Tombuan, and Super 7's collaboration on that same sculpt; Duk Duk? Both are based on Papuan mythology. There have been a bunch of lovely releases like this in the last couple of years.
oh, I love those! And thank you all for the tips. I feel so welcome already. I have to check out those most colorful figures! I adore a lot of color. cindy
Being into the crypto and mythological pieces is an awesome way to zone in on your collection. Plenty of awesome stuff Im sure youll discover here and there. Welcome!
Hello i´m Lucas from the Netherlands i´m 32 y/o i've visited here for a few weeks now and thought why not sign up and such. I'm fairly new to the whole sofubi business and only bought a Lucky bag from Gargamel a couple weeks because i really liked a couple of the kaiju that were in those. Mainly focused on Gargamel stuff right now, and really hope to collect more of there work in the future. Hope i'll discover some cool and new things on this site and get a little more familiar with the people that roam around here . Not much else that comes to mind right now that i can think of, but if you want to ask me something or have a question just send me a message or reply in the thread below your choice
Hello all! My name is Jim, I live in the US, and I am FAIRLY new to collecting vinyl. I've had some pieces over the years that I've loved, but most of my collecting was in Transformers (I have over 800 now). After getting some RxH figures, and some Vintage Vinyl figures, I found myself hooked, and here I am! I actually came to this forum from the October Toys forum… some of you might know me from there! Anyway, I love what I've seen so far, and I look forward to discussing things with everyone! Take care all Jimbot
