Well, I know with many of us, there are so many great Godzilla figures out there, it is a real tough time picking a favourite. For myself though, one of my favourite versions is the original '54 Shodai-Goji, and of these, the maquette sculpts are the veritable bee's knees. Like many I am sure, I have been hunting this guy for a while, and he just arrived. What a hunk (both in appearance and stature of vinyl). Sadly my camera does not do the beauty of this guy justice at all. I confess, though I am a play with my toys guy, it was actually kinda tough to free this guy from his packaging, after coveting him for so long, but once he was out and about the payoff was well worth it.
I generally like the next Godzilla on my want list which will probably get me a punch in the nuts but I want: M1 Ameri-Goji
No shame in seeking an Ameri-Goji toy, Marmit for one did a beautiful job with the contentious beast, but did M1 take a pass at it? News to me.
Godzilla Raids Again is my favorite G movie, so I've always been partial to this 2001 Bandai "Ice Colored" Godzilla '55. This is the one that came with the "Fire Colored" Anguiras.
I favor painted figures 99% of the time, but something about this sculpt makes me really appreciate the purity of blank vinyl. If I were to collect vintage this Bullmark mini is the first Goji I would get.
Part of me (not reallly) hates to bring this up again, but thinking about it, doesn't "Godzilla Bong" (Gojira Bongu) Have a nice ring to it? "Go-ji-ra-bo-n-gu." We dont't have to claim things are "Water Pipes" here right? Copecetic for the win!
I would love a set of finger puppets but people always break them up for the purpose of price gouging.
Wow, I used to see that set sitting in my friends vintage toy store for years. If I had've known it was saught after I would have got it. I don't think he had much on it or even knew what it was.
I lucked into this really nice H.G. Toys playset a while back. I had one as a kid, only they must've run out of Battleships, because instead of that my set came with two Tricephalon monsters I love the Marvel Comics style box art. That looks like such a great set, and huge thank you for those pics Roger. I definitely would like to track one of these down one day. So how large are the figures for it, I think they are bigger than I was initially thinking.
