I haven't bought sofubi in well over a year and a half. I would probably go in on this if I had a better idea of the figure's look. I'm sure it will be awesome, but like previously stated, hope something more pops up before the preorder date.

 

The site says S-XXL. Ask and you shall receive. I asked Shig for a XX Nag shirt and he hooked me up. Sometimes you just gotta ask.

Oh, I did send an e-mail inquiring about this after checking on the pre-orders and only seeing L & XL - probably wasn't the only one...

what is the colour of the unpainted proto in the package?

 

Lots of negative vibes about a $20 shirt! . . . (IMO) in the scheme of things and given the pricing (most JPN vinyl in a 10" size sells for $90-$150 and up) and particularly with the larger packages it's more like the shirt's a freebie bonus deal sweetner!

As regards sizing, anyone needing XXL and bigger . . . . lay off the pies!

 

Hoping the unpainted is black, GID or clear Purple.

A Marbled lack and purple would do this sculpt justice!

Either way- picking this beast of another dimension up!

 

The package deals are definitely pretty sweet & I also consider the shirt more of a cool bonus - I just couldn't have spared the additional money on all the pies (or steroids) I'd need to gobble down to fit into an L...

 

if anyone would like to go in on a package with me, let me know. i DON'T want a shirt or unpainted prototype.

 

Those are also the things I don't want.

Is it just me or is anybody else curious what this toy actually looks like?

 

As much as I love Skinner's work, no way would I shell-out $500 for a toy that I have not even seen. They should delay the release until they have something to really show.

I plan to save the $500 and buy some original art directly from Skinner. Problem solved.

But there is always someone out there who will bite before they look. Who's getting the big package? Come on, chime in if you are.

 

The question and answer on KC from Luke is interesting. Lots of plans for making the work with Skinner a long-term thing, which is certainly neat. Confirmation of no shots of the toy tomorrow or 'for a while'. It is what it is, but I too am really curious how many people are readying their buying fingers for tomorrow. I buy lots of 3A preorders, but I always try to stick to stuff with a prototype shown.. surprise test shot color is one thing (and fun), but surprise sculpt is a little different. Lulubell has always treated me well and I'm sure they won't release something they don't stand behind, but once you reach about the $200 threshold, it's nice to see what you're really getting. Like DY said, who's gonna be first in line tomorrow?

 

I think that this is something that I really want, but will not be purchasing anything until I see an image. I'm honestly bummed about it too, I was really looking forward to seeing something and placing an order.

 

If I had that dough just sitting around, I would do it blind in a heartbeat.

For me it's just the other way around - I don't collect Siccaluna, but from what I've seen his sculpting skills are amazing, so I'm confident the figure will be a winner. On the other hand, I'm not too keen on the "prototypes"; considering that these will be made on a pre-order basis, I was hoping they'd be black, GID, marbled, whatever, and I'm not exactly thrilled about the possibility of receiving one that is simply "doo doo brown". The $500 package is a nice deal, but since a) I'm not a completist and just tend to go for the colorways I really like & b) I just don't have that kind of money to throw around, I'm very much on the fence about this whole thing.

 

When you put two artists together, I wonder if one's style will dominate the figure. When I saw the preview, I was kind of thinking- too much Shikaruna flavor. But the figure is a colab between Skinner and Shikaruna, they weren't hired to create a 3-D duplication of Skinners painting, so I guess you have to give them their freedom in the colab and sculpture. I'm looking forward to seeing the figure. But agree, I won't order one until I see the proto and know color. And I'm expecting a very Shikaruna vibe, not a figure that's going to look like a straight Skinner character.

 

i'm sorry... unless you're a bigtime shikaruna fan (maybe there's alot ), I don't see why anyone would expect people to buy this blindly.
