i looked around in Search but couldn't find a thread specifically compiling header card art. so i'm starting this one here. I know Rich, Bert and many other customizers here have done some sick header art. Please post some here for all to enjoy Here's my first header for the Fat Lady Crew GERMS, this should be at your door soon Front Back
dude I was just about to post your headers on the "look what I got in the mail" thread. I recieved my baby blue resin set yesterday. Love 'em. I took some pics and will post soon. the top pic is freaky good.
nice one JoeMan. I know there are more of you out there with your own headers. Let's see 'em! Here's a couple more of mine in the photoshop antique style: Toybotstudios Fat Lady Header Apocalypse Parade Uni-Chan And the BEST YET, illustrated by LiLJAPAN (BEYOND) the header art for the Old Toby figure is awesome. Thanks so much LiLJAPAN!
^^^ this Old Toby header is a fantastic representation; I feel like I have been visually kicked in the balls! (in a good way)
I'm glad you like it Uber...... I really enjoyed drawing it and especially drawing the duck head. Ducks are awesome!!!
here's a couple of the first MH victim#1 headers photocopied with silly drawings by me: These were actually printed on acetate then stapled over green cardstock. And the kickass art Josh H did for our super7 victim#1 fun victim #2 boxart tons more one-off boxes http://www.flickr.com/photos/monstrehero/sets/72157620573070292/
I am old school, and don't have Photoshop or the like, so I really like the drawn ones. I'll always champion hand-drawn!!
this is the free photoshop type program GIMP http://www.gimp.org/ its very similar, though it lacks the magnetic lasso which is pretty much the best thing ever. anyway, photoshop can never replace skill. i can draw okay, but am very out of practice. for me, drawing is not like riding a bike. i need to relearn after taking a long break from sketchbooks. so photoshop fills a gap in that it lets me create sketches of ideas that would absolutely rule if they were drawn or painted by a skilled hand. but since i'm out of practice and never close to being able to photo-realistically draw much besides self-portraits (forced practice from class), i gots to shop it up sometimes. it only kind of saves time as it can get pretty involved. a good artist that works quick still has the advantage over the photoshopper. cliff, nice to see the old headers. i like.
that is wow - I really liked the Old Toby piece itself, but I must say it's header does a great job of rivaling the toys coolness. Props to both you & Hiro.
