I am absolutely in love with these robot apes. Definitely need to grab one at some point!

 

The makers are offering assistance in getting it repaired or replaced but this is another example of me paying lots of money for something and getting some very lack luster packaging.

 

That's just *awful.* I mean holy hell.

Fuckin Damn. You sure you didn't accidentally select the "shoot it out of a canon" delivery option?

 

Or the 'run it across the planer up to the cargo ramp, the conveyor is broken'?

 

Any update on this travesty?

 

They have offered to repair it but only if I pay shipping both ways. Which would likely be anything between $150-$180 these days. Also they can fix their own mistake. And with no guarantee that they'll actually package better on the way back.

 

@Piecewise Who made that toy? From the pic you posted, it looks like they should just send you out a new one, and be covering the shipping costs.

 

Asking me to pay shipping both ways would turn me off to that seller forever.

 

'Getting it repaired' ... which means glue, I assume. Anybody could do that.

A flimsy looking box with not enough inner protection. 100% the sellers fault, they should send another toy or give a full refund. Anything else is shady. If that doesn't happen I'd be all over the internet, letting other collectors know they suck. I'd half expect inferior packaging from some fuckwit on eBay, but direct from the maker??!

 

So this is somewhat of a complex situation. The sculpt is by planet X, the painting is by Pump jung. But it was sold through the strange gallery. I think that might be part of the reason why they're offering to repair instead of replace. Still the bad packaging and the requirement that I pay more because of their mistake doesn't really endear them to me.
