I was never partial to risers but seeing this is kinda pushing me that direction. Chris, this set up looks fabulous!!!
Thanks Dennis! Your toy room is one of my favorites so that means a lot. Risers just make sense with detolfs because they seem to have the most space going upward rather than side to side and front to back.
always great to see your collection chris! updated shot of my shikaruna collection in my office, where it's a pleasure to come to work each day!
Happy holidays, all. With a little time off (and finally picking up some swiffers), I managed to get off my arse and rearrange my kaiju collection. A huge accumulation of dust needed to be removed from the displayed figures first. A daunting task! But I did it over a few days, pulled out my extra stuff from boxes, sorted through everything, and put up a new assortment, with the rest going back into boxes. I wish I had room for it all, but unfortunately I don't. My collection before was just a mess of a mixture, mostly arranged by color, style, etc. I wanted to specifically sort them now by having a classic Toho shelf (or two), putting all the Ultra villains together, and having neo kaiju on one shelf. Some larger stuff had to be on mixed shelves. I also wanted to have colors more mixed, get rid of boring brown/dark green only shelves. Anyway, here is my stuff in its current setup. Some fun pics of the Toho stuff piled up on the bed (ignore the Spidey sheets - this is my son's room): On to the shelves... (As a side note, the individual shelf pix are closeups, but were resized upon uploading so I guess they appear the same size as in the overview shots.) ^^^^^Great shots, great taste in toys! I have a lot of the very same vinyls on my shelves. It's refreshing to see people still interested in classic Japanese sofubi.
Ditto! I see maybe ten toys on there that I wouldn't care to own, but even those few look great in that crowd! A lovely blend of excellent monsters, sir.
Thank you guys so much - greatly appreciated! Glad my tastes are shared. I think we are in the minority these days, but I guess that makes things interesting. I was afraid to even post the pics for fear of crickets. (No disrespect intended for collectors with other tastes.) I think some are directly from you!! Sorry, I don't have any recent pics. And I can't really take any since my stuff is hidden behind boxes within a walk-in closet. Plus most of the newer stuff acquired over the last 2 years or so just never made it up on the shelves. But here is a glimpse of the bulk of the older displayed stuff. Not sure if you can make out much details from these, but hopefully they will suffice for now (if you want to see something up close, let me know and I will try my best). If you hate cramped displays, look away now! x x x x
Thanks, cheapo! That Danguard Ace is a junior machinder from Italy, I believe. NekroDave did a write-up on one here, where you can see better pix: http://www.collectiondx.com/toy_review/ ... gard_ace_0 If I recall correctly, mine's in pretty decent condition, with the missiles. Actually, based on the photos, I think Dave might have bought my old one when I upgraded!
Here's my setup after moving recently, I think I need some more risers to fill things out a bit but it's a pretty good start!
Nice well organized collection. Your Rider shelf is looking awesome, love the beret wearing shocker dude.
Nice setup, looks like that M1 Glow Goji fit in nicely I keep seeing pics of that all white helmeted bootleg V3 Kamen Rider. Scobot also has one. Anyone have any info on this? I really dig the all white helmet.
Thanks man! The white helmet V3 seems to be a bootleg, his head is solid like that- no removable mask. I got him with another slightly different bootleg V3 for cheap a while back.
