I did a little searching and there isn't a record collection showoff thread (that I could find). So let's see em!
I'm into this I know a bunch of us collect records hopefully some good stuff pops up! Need to take some pics now
Okay I'll go first. Trick'r'Treat Soundtrack Limited Black/Orange vinyl Waxwork records. Cannibal Ferox score Limited Green/White vinyl One Way Static records Case of the Bloody Iris score Finders Keepers records Cannibal Holocaust Score "Green Inferno" Vinyl Grindhouse Releasing/Mondo Umberto - Prophecy of the Black Widow Not Not Fun records This is a band. Phantom of the Paradise score A&M records One of my favorite films of all time. Emannuelle: Perche Violenza all donne? score limited red/blue vinyl DeathWaltz records This was a very odd release. Came with an all black sleeve with nothing but the Deathwaltz logo on it. Inside was the card you see in the image and a HUGE folded up poster of the same image. Forbidden Photos of a Lady under suspicion score Dagored records There was an awful glare on the cover from the lights so I covered it with a magnified image of the details from the sticker. Round Vernian VIFAM score No information on this release, picked it up at a record swap. An extremely odd Mecha-anime and a pretty rockin theme song. A couple random pickups from a record store in LA that was under an overpass. Moms Mabley - Cheech & Chong (Rolling paper intact) - Japanese Valley of the Dolls score - Demo sampler featuring Blue Cheer and a band called "H.P. Lovecraft"
Dang! That is one sweet set up you have there, Kev. This is just a further reminder that i need a new turntable. Are those laserdiscs all the way on the right?
Thanks guys! Yes, it is...Pro-Ject Phono Box S along with a Speed Box S (to control the speed) Nope, those are more soundtracks...I have allot
When I take pictures of them, I put them here under this hashtag: https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/missysrecords/
That France Gall though! I bought my gal what I THOUGHT was a Japanese release of 'Un Prince Charmant' but it turned out that she actually re-recorded it in Japanese as 'Yume ni mita ojisama'. This is pretty well known among France Gall fans but I was just getting into her at the time. Mind was blown.
I would say that's not necessarily a bad mistake to have made! I love France Gall. i remember my trips to Montreal I would go to HMV and load up on all her CDs. I wish I had been buying records more back then! There is a dealer that comes to a show here from Quebec and he often has yeye and chanson lps. I always want to buy them ALL!!!
Anybody know if Mondo's records come with digi DL codes? I always expect new LPs to come with codes, but I've been burnt a few times.
In Mondo's defense, they most likely can't get or don't want to pay for digital rights. Record labels have to pay for every download code whether or not it is ever redeemed. Plus there are extra costs for using a DL code service and printing/inserting the redemption code cards.
To your first point - that's fair. I didn't realize that there would be additional payment requirements for digi rights vs analog rights. To your second point (and more generally directed toward labels that already own the music rights) - in this day and age where most people listen to music away from their "hi-fi", and when we're paying a rather hefty premium ($25-35 for an LP!) providing a digi DL should be a small part of the cost of doing business.
