Help me identify the animals in the dokugan animal series: se1 - leopard - http://shop.tokyocube.com/toys-details.htm?p=2084 se2 - snow leopard - http://shop.tokyocube.com/toys-details.htm?p=2121 se3 - roadkill? (this one has me stumped) - http://shop.tokyocube.com/toys-details.htm?p=2146 se4 - tiger? (If tigers were red) - http://shop.tokyocube.com/toys-details.htm?p=2253 (edit: fixed URLs)
I thought they were named "animal" simply because of the spot and stripe patterns. But if I had to guess I'd say se1-cheetah se2-leopard se3-koi/carp se4-Cincinnati Bengal
Awesome, thanks Bryce. Now that you've said it se3 totally looks like a koi. As an added surprise se3 and se4 are done on GID vinyl. Dave
Big thanks to TAG's Gino and Sean! Red Carpet Kaiju Group Show Toy Art Gallery Los Angeles Opening reception is September 4th 2010 from 7-11 PM, with artists in attendance, music, drinks, a food truck, giveaways and more! "Born of a collaboration between BLObPUS and AKOART, fostered through working together on custom Dokugans for gallery shows, we present the first original collaborative soft vinyl figure - BERORON! Beroron is going to take the rotten, corrupt society we live in and lick it clean until its sparklingly new!"
I dig it more than the customs but I don't love it. It has sort of an 80's FX puppet vibe going on for me. New arms would have been cool.
have to get used to this style also, but realistic highly detailed face/mouth very impressive. really cool. agree with the arms...
I agree. I would have loved to see some matching arms. Plus some insert eyes instead of painted.. But still a great looking piece!
Pretty cool. I just think the face looks a little 'flat', especially the way the tongue was treated. Could've been cool to see it coming at you. I like that they kept the arms, gives it that Blobpus signature mark.... Pretty cool nonetheless!
Nothing for me either though I think another head design for the dokugan could work pretty well . . .
Looks completely wrong on the dokugan body. The lines don't match up, the face is too busy...eesh. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.
This pretty much sums it up... there's too much surface detail and texture on the new head to match the Doku body. They clearly weren't designed at the same time, or really for each other well.
I agree that it looks a little flat. They should have pushed the tongue back deeper in the mouth. I also don't like the two sets of eyes. Or at least I don't like they way they have been treated here.
OOOH' FUCKNOOO......!!!!!!!!!!! what Spasm & Liquid said x10.........!!!!!!!!! I just hate that goofy looking face.... I think the original dokugans have a certain class and style where this just looks fucking terrible.... why not just make an entirely new figure instead hurling a big bag of flaming slimer shit in the face of the almighty dokugan...!!! seriously, no offense to the hard working efforts of the collaboration or anybody involved.. it's just not my style and these are my two cents...
not trying to be a negative jerk about it cuz it looks kool & the gang and all, it's just my personal opinion... I'm a pretty hardcore fan of the Dokugan so it's hard for me to see that particular body with any other head, well except for the Docross heads which actually grew on me after a while.. I hope it sells like gangbusters... or should I say ghostbusters...!!!
