    I will be in Philadelphia this weekend... any recommendations from y'all?
    The only thing I really have sched'd is seeing Oh Sees on Saturday night.
    Thanks in advance!

    I usually stumble around Philly while I'm seeing some music as well, its all good! Great city to find some trouble without an agenda. Just make sure you stop by Ishkabibble's for if not the best the messiest cheese steak.
    I'm seeing the Oh Sees in Brooklyn this friday ;)

    First off, in Philly it's yous not y'all.

    Oh Sees play Union Transfer, so a legit place for dinner before the show is Prohibition Taphouse. Only a couple blocks from the venue.

    Agree with Reading Terminal. Everybody enjoys it there. The roast pork is a fan favorite.

    I'd also recommend the Art Museum, but that's not downtown. Still in the city, but out towards Manayunk. You can be the first person ever to recreate the Rocky run up the stairs jawn.

    if you are a better beer drinker, make a beeline for tired hands in ardmore. the tap list at the brew cafe & pub are never the same so it's worth hitting both. releases are at the pub, be prepared to wait on line for cans especially if its one of the monthly milkshake IPAs. leftover cans are available behind the bar & then into the cooler at their general store. tacos at El Limon are legit if you prefer street tacos over the artisan curry cauliflower type.

    Oh shit! Might see you there @ungawa222 I'll probably be there with a bud of mine! Never miss them when they're in town. I like @evom and @psilo110 recommendations. Although there is a tired hands beer garden in fishtown (neighborhood where I live, not far from Union Transfer) where they have 13 of their beers on tap. All very delicious. Suraya is a killer Lebanese restaurant that also just opened up over there. Let me know what you like to do and I can give you more specific recommendations.

    Just watch out for any guys up to no good, which might start some trouble in your neighbourhood.

    @D-.No: Awesome, D- thanks! I was a North Jersey kid, so outside of a couple class trips I never hung out in Philly. (Such was the divide in my tiny home state! :lol:) My sis has lived there for several years now* and loves it, I'm sure she'll have some cool ideas. Have fun at the Brooklyn show!! I'm psyched... have loved the band for years and somehow never made it out to see them. I was supposed to go to the Montreal show on Monday night, but decided to be something resembling a responsible adult instead... had a ton of things to take care of this week, and decided I could not head into it all on only 4 or so hours of sleep.

    *Yes I SUCK as I have never visited her there until now. Better late than never!

    @Mr. Humphreys YES! On the list! Actually, I did pop in there once in 2010, when I was passing through the city... had a sandwich with broccoli rabe and... pork?? I think? Was delish. Look forward to going in hungry and trying more of everything.

    @evom Obviously.

    @toothaction :shock: Oh.... yeah. Okay. Yes. Wow.

    @BleedingEdges Yes! Heard about them... will def. pop in there.

    @DrilOne Great suggestion... very interested in that. Nighttime one will be an absolute no-go for my sis, who is highly averse to intentionally being creeped out/scared.

    @Philpenn
    Got it- will strictly observe this while there. And "yins"... that's Pittsburgh, right?
    And I'm from Jersey... why do I even feel license to use "y'all"? Here's why: Texan wife. (I think that gives me clearance on it...)

    Good suggestions otherwise, too... noted! And MAN ALIVE, I can't believe I'll be the first person to recreate that Rocky moment! YESSSSS! Will definitely document.

    @psilo110 I am indeed a better beer drinker- will check tired hands! El Limon sounds like a must, too... good street tacos are not at all an option where I live (though you can sit down to super-expensive organic chicken/curry cauliflower/kale tacos, for sure), so if it's an option when I'm traveling, I never miss out.

    @BrickBat Ah, we gotta say hi, Chris! :twisted: I'll PM you here today or tomorrow! Suraya sounds good- love Lebanese, and my sis is vegetarian so that would likely be good spot for her, too.

    THANKS, friends! I knew you guys would have the goods... very much appreciated! ;):thumbsup:

    @noeleaser honestly, I'm not even sure what that means without Googling, but if my sister offers a trip to Badlands I will politely decline.

    Basically, it’s the largest, most dangerous open air drug market in the country. It’s a few stops passed The Mothership Gallery on the El. Unless your sister is a hard-core drug addict, most likely she would never take you there. LOL

    Do a search on YouTube and check out some of the shit that goes down, it’s absolutely insane. I used to frequent there 20+ years ago when I lived in Philly and had substance abuse issues. I am so lucky to have survived it..

    Stay far far away.

    There you go, fixed that for you, as I think the original message might have been somewhat ambiguous, and I wouldn't want there to be any confusion.

    Thank you, Grace- will do! Doing everything I can to resist the first wave of chilly weather sickness which seems to be engulfing my officemates and family :shock::(... if I can escape uninfected, I should have a good time in Philly.

    Will take some pics, too... trying to decide which of the toy crew from the pocket-sized wing to bring... leaning toward Buta Miclas...

    Actually on my way to get flu shot (and pick up Halloween run Shampuvians headers! (shameless plug!)) in about 40 minutes. Will add a lysine supp to the list, thanks for the reminder on hand sanitizer, and weird looks be damned, I may ride that plane with a germ mask on Friday!

    BTW, Tattooed Mom on South Street is a dive bar that’s been there since I went to college in the mid 90s. On the bar they usually have bowls of candy and small vending machine type toys that they give away. I haven’t been there in over 20 years but it used to be a blast back in the day.
