Came across these today, wondered what they were:

Bearmodel blanks, all variously available painted. Some nice bargains there for people who don't mind unpainted.

If into more information, here ya go:

    from left to right -

Alien Atler (アトラー星人) from Ultraman Leo

    Mashula (マシュラ) from Ultraman Taro

Alien Miracle (ミラクル星人) from Ultraman Taro

Alien Wolf (ミラクル星人) from Ultraman Leo

I think that covers it, with all the translucent ones being repeats of the first set. There have been several versions of them, with some recent ones specifically through Mandarake and Medicom.

thanks for all the info @ultrakaiju !
i’m usually all for painted over blank, but these sculpts looks damn good unpainted, even better looking than the painted ones imo

I have the first Mandarake release pair painted by Leo Sofubi, they're really cool.

I'd be interested to know where you saw those! @Roger There's not a possibility they're bootlegs is there? I know they're more recent sculpts, but I've never seen that many Bear Model unpainted together in that many vinyl colours. Its weird.

BM usually save unpainted for their lucky bags in my experience. I was never sure if these were Medicom/BM or just straight up BM. Is that photo at a toy show or a shop?

Thanks for the IDs! I found them at a cube store in Nakano Broadway. Third floor towards the back. Maybe they're being sold by the guy who runs Bear Model.

Thank you for the plethora of detailed information, Steve! That Alien Wolf is somethin’ special, in both the sculpt and the paint! Though my collecting of these classic monsters is lacking in comparison to my usuals, my appreciation for them is endless!

I love the Bear Model Wolf Seijin. I didn't know they had produced this until fairly recently when I picked one up on an impulse buy. Something about it reminds me of the older BM figures, as it's a fairly simple design, but done with great, subtle textures. Great name, too. Nothing left to the imagination.

Beautiful beautiful Bearmodel. At those prices Roger, you'd be foolish not to grab a few

A shop is even more intriguing than a show, thanks for sharing this mate. During the whole time I've been collecting BM, including my extensive travels on the net, I've never seen varied colour blank multiples of BM figures grouped together like this. Its very unusual, I was kind of taken aback when I saw your photo!

Is it a bunch of unused stock? Does the shop owner have connections with BM? Maybe they've just decided to start releasing blanks in a bigger way. I'd love to know the full story . . .

Really nice! Thanks for posting these pictures and getting the discussion going; I feel like a lot of the classic sentai monsters, and the longtime companies who make toys of them have been pushed to the margins of this hobby these days. If I were there, I’d grab at least alien wolf and Mashula, if not all the characters.

Haha, I'm glad I'm not there because I'd probably of bought one of each and now I'd be skint and living off baked beans until the end of the month!

I suppose if I lived there I would of said living off instant ramen. Baked beans are very UK-centric.

Nah, we have baked beans here in the US, we just don’t eat them at breakfast. :? Lol.

Bearmodel produces some of the nicest sculpts in the game. For those who seek the charming crudeness of Buta in a larger form factor, look no further.

I need to figure out a way to display mine. Space is at a premium in our household these days.

This is the place that has them, it's towards the back of the floor, counterclockwise from Hakaba gallery.

I asked the guy behind the counter about them, he said they belonged to his friend, and they were made by Inspire. I saw the characters for "Bear Model" on the feet but didn't want to correct him.

I would have brought some back for folks here but I am here for less than 24 hours and nearly out of space and cash.

The orange gid Grand King in that case is made by Inspire. Maybe he got confused.

Its still a mystery where his 'friend' got all those blanks from. They must know the Bear Model owner or something. Highly unusual find, thanks for asking anyway.

If I were to surmise, his friend is likely the LEO Sofubi Bouya guy. I believe he did a number of Bear Model color schemes (maybe painting as well), including some on the same color vinyl figures as those blanks. It would make sense if he had a few left over after the run was painted.

Yeah, that does sound the most likely, but he didn't paint every run (or maybe he did, i dont know) so why would he have extra base colours he didn't work on? Still, that's the most likely answer so far.
