The debate about pricing can go on forever. Saw these toys in person at dcon and they were cool but for a new artist at the time I really didn't want to spend the money. Wanted the Bart Simpson one but didn't pull the trigger. Remember he was part of the Mishka after party with mvh and pk pieces. His stuff didn't go first but to be mention with those names is pretty big. Once he has a piece that is on the bay and sells for triple the price, we will look back at this convo and go woah those prices when he first started were cheap.

Suddenly that "hype by association" quote comes to mind again.

And it doesn't matter how high prices go on the Bay, I'll still never want one of these...

This thread pisses me off, if you knew anything at all about the two guys behind Violence Toy you wouldn't be questioning their motives or integrity for a second. These are old school tattoo artist dudes who have been earning their keep as artists and toy makers for many years now. I've seen them painting each one of these by hand with V-Color in backyards and how much work & passion goes into each and every toy, which they've sculpted by hand themselves in a world of digital rendering. This run might not be the best toys ever and might remind you of other peoples work (I thought the same thing) but it's their FIRST RUN and they have so much super cool stuff on the way it's insane. Knowing how much they had to pay to get these made and how much work goes into each one I honestly don't find their pricing unreasonable, even though it's out of my personal range for toy purchases... I get it. The "hype by association" statement is also ridiculous, maybe all these amazing artists & companies WANT to work with these guys because they know how sincere they are about with they do. I've never met a more humble & knowledgable toy creator than Zach Taylor and anyone who has seen his paintings & headers for Awesome Toy knows he doesn't have to prove anything to anyone. It's all good, just keep your minds open because this company is working on some really cool shit and you'll certainly see how they're developing a style all their own.

Not to keep beating a dead horse here, but I will still adamantly declare how great their mash up with Heroin Skateboards is. God damn are they lucky to have gotten to work with that brand. Their Rotten Studio collab is still my favorite from them too. Good on them.

Their 'Passion' is all well and good but you kinda said it yourself . . . They look like bad rip-off's of other toys and are overpriced for most regular toy collectors.

It seems that hype is the only thing that's gonna sell this stuff (to which we are all now contributing!)

Bearing in mind the costs involved in tooling, it also seems kinda naive to have gone balls-deep into a whole 'range' of toys without testing the water to gauge a reaction first.

    Long live the Delvipers!

They realize the price point is keeping their toys out of the hands of a lot of people that want 'em, seem to be taking a new approach with some upcoming stuff that'll be affordable for everyone which I'm pretty stoked for. :)

That's my favorite of the whole line up. That icy blue kills. If I was still avidly skating and running my Eerie Skateboard brand... I was drooling over the Skull Skates Moss Man deck.

If I recall I believe they had it in other shapes as well. So good.

That's a great series, if you're ever in Vancouver it's definitely worth a trip to PDs hot shop to see all of the skull skates and BAKU stuff.

I'd probably urinate all over myself and then all over the skate decks cuz I'd be so excited.
Semi related: I made a series of bootleg figures based on BAKU's Deer Man, who in turn sent me a gift box for giving him one of the figures.

Rad decks! I've seen all the Heroin ones in person and think I like the black one most.

Ever since seeing blanks of these toys I do appreciate them more. The time-gore and the death car are best. I think some of the arms are a little out there though but the ones I like (smaller sharper ones almost like talons) are pretty wicked.

I haven't been a fan of anything this maker has put out yet. Until now. I'm not a huge keshi guy, but I feel like these characters translate very well to said medium.

This guy and the Trollborg are my favorite. This is Quantum Wolf, he is kinda Slimebat-y. I dig em.

These mini monsters are my favorite thing to come from them so far. I'd love a neon colored set down the road.

They should have made these designs into the full size vinyl, much better looking.

They really are much better looking. They do a great job of feeling like 80s B-movie characters.
