At a massive 30 inches he’d go well with some Jumbo Machinders/Shogun Warriors.

The devil is in the details, and this one's too detailed for me! ;)

Honestly, this beast seems to be quite the feat of engineering. I'd love to check out a video of the actual in-hand transformation process.

I can appreciate the comparison, but I'm thinking that this fellow would look about as appropriate next to Raideen as a McFarlane sketch would look side by side with a Schulz cartoon

    EDIT: Stoopit, stoopit, stoopit typos!

Hahaha fair point and one which is correct. I was thinking of size only. Now that you brought McFarlane comparisons into the mix I’m out of here.

I remember when Hasbro released the Unicron under the Armada line years ago. It was 2003.
I remember this specifically because I bought it at Toys R Us Times Square when I worked in the city and it was the same day as the massive blackout that hit the east coast. I left it under my desk versus lugging around a big box all day.

Thank God too. I ended up walking down 45 flights of stairs in the dark (pre-cellphone flashlights) and then 100+ blocks north with my wife (then-girlfriend) to get out of the city. Crazy day.

@spatula007 - That sounds like a rough day.

I am impressed with how accurately the Unicron represents the original character design from the film.

I think they did an amazing job on the engineering and sculped details, but I dunno... I just don't know what I would do with it? It's too big to be a playable toy, but it's not big enough to be an in-scale representation of Unicron.

A (probably minor) quibble on my part is that the face doesn't really look like any particular version of Unicron. The top half is sort of like the 1986 movie version, but the bottom half is more like the Marvel comics version with the sharp teeth. There's also a lot of sculpted detail on the face, which I don't remember being that obvious in the animation.

Anyway, neat idea, but it doesn't really fill any particular niche in my TF collection. I have the Armada Unicron for a 'toy' Unicron, and for my display I have the giant Artstorm head.

Yeah, to me the "anime accurate" aspect is what should sell it to hardcore Transformers folks. This should get funded.

People say production costs for sofubi are expensive.. well well well, $4,600,000 budget to produce this Unicron... Do they really need a minimum of 8000 backers? I kinda think they are fudging the numbers here...

Do you think Hasbro is selling these at cost? ;p

I'm thinking it's a cookie, or perhaps even multiple cookies.

Based on one of the prototypes shown at SDCC, it looks like Unicron can close his mouth and hide the teeth. At least he's not permanently stuck with dull surprise face.

Hasbro will just start having everything made in Vietnam. Trump is an idiot.

It’s too much... though I quite enjoy it. Can we get a button that has some drunk Orsen Wells adlibs?

So, surprise surprise, Unicron was funded in the last few days. I think it's a little odd that the number of backers seemed to jump from slightly over 7,000 to 8,000+ in a few days, but who knows I guess.
