The fugliest toys you have seen while collecting.

It’s like they pasted scrapbooking paper or just made their first website back in the early 2000s and picked some default backgrounds.

 

Sure, thats cool if you want come at it from a cerebral angle. I post toys on this thread purely from gut reaction - is it fugly or not? Does it make me chuckle at its awfulness?

To me it looks like a Pooh corpse thats been face down in a chest freezer too long, and its all mushed and freezer burnt

 

Are new makers taking some neuro-suppressant to block creativity? I am so sick of multi-headed gorillas.

 

Wow, this one ticks nearly all the boxes, dunnit?
The thing that really gets me about it, though, is the leg joints. They'd seem to be absolutely unnecessary, from a pulling perspective, and the angle adds faint little articulation value, so... why? As well, in this unpainted marbled vinyl (especially on the b&w one), it only serves to make it look like he's wearing jorts.

Nothing, inherently; in fact I'm wearing some brand-new JNCO jorts right now.
I just don't think they're flattering on Ol' Fugly Two-Head, here...

Separating the legs from the torso piece may have been a necessity based on how big the oil bath for the tooling is.

I almost posted that Bro-Zilla yesterday, but I actually think it looks cool. That being said, it doesn't fit anywhere within my collecting goals.

I think too many newer toys just have too much going on - too much texture, too many colors, too many painted details, etc. I personally want to see the 60s/70s influences shine through.

 

he's got a Game Boy VHS tape, and Jordan 8's on. I think you're thinking the wrong decade.

I would actually like this sans baseball cap, but then I don’t mind toys with boobs/dicks/sneakers (toys with hair are rank though).

 

All those details are reasons this guy will probably never be on my shelf. That being said, if it had more of the 60s/70s Bullmark feel in the paint apps, I might consider it. I like the edges to have a bit more fade to ‘em.

Here’s another pet peeve of mine: sticking a politician head on something and calling it art. Usually there’s some meaning to it, even if the meaning is as simple as “I don’t like this guy”. But it just makes for an ugly toy that nobody will care about, in a decade or two.
