Zing! I haven't painted in quite a while, and I know my stuff was not everyones taste by any means, but I enjoyed it, typically painted on readily available figures, or those selling for under retail and sitting on the bst unless actually being commissioned.

 

for me, that guys color choices were not my thing but his application is literally fine. everything is saturated where it needs to be and has intent. do i want it? nope. does that matter? nope lol.

i will say... its the equivalent of painting any of the top toys we collectively like. it could be a whaaatever paint job but it will still sell out immediately. is that my success or the sculpts?? the answer is pretty obvious in my opinion

This is incredible. There is a whole history in this thread of people critiquing toys/toy makes that others like. Hard to believe someone considers themself an artist but can't handle some random people they don't know disliking their work. Going to be a tough life

The monochromatic Mickeyman, first painted Astroman and Devilman Truthbobo are only saved by their paints, in my opinion. The sculpts themselves are...okay. Visually, I feel like I get the point, but I can’t articulate it into words. Whoever Tan has painting his toys is pretty goddamn talented. But I am getting sooooooo tired of this random, massive surge of Mario toys. More tired than even seein’ Mickey Mouse homages. This thing is just stupid.

Just give it 6 months and someone will be desperately trying to unload this pair on eBay for $450. Kaijutan’s stuff always ends up there for less than retail. His work is disgustingly expensive.
