I have to agree with this. The Boys comics were a struggle at the start because it was so juvenile but around halfway it picks up its stride and the characters are more well developed and the story has plenty of interesting twist and turns. Preacher is untouchable however. Perfection from start to end and my all time favourite comic. (Chronicles of Wormwood makes a good companion piece to this but it is pure comedy)

Lately I’ve been reading the Crossed:Badlands series which is good if you’re into extremely gory horror.

Regarding The Boys TV show: I read season 2 has been accepted ahead of time and filming will be wrapped before the end of the year.

I'm a Hellblazer man from way back. Moore sowed the seeds, Delano tended that garden well but Ennis made that shit grow! Discovered his work from the homeland around that time as well and much enjoyed it. What's Preacher?

I don't know how I forgot about his run on hellblazer. That was the definitive creation of Constantine. I also like azzerellos run on the book.
I think read the first couple trades for crossed. That's the weird sex zombie apocalyptic thing right? It was a bit much for me. Fun but so Ennis. The comic writer who I think has fallen most from grace is Frank Miller. Creating weird racist crap

It is definitely that weird zombie sex thing but Badlands has a revolving roster of storytellers and illustrators telling their own stories in the universe Ennis created. Crossed + 100 is written by Alan Moore which I'll be interested to checkout after.

Just finished up. Quibbles, sure, but they won me over eventually - some very pedestrian framing and presentation was well made up for by casting, performance and the bulk of the story choices, and the wearisomely on-the-nose politics were threaded through the story in ways that ended up reading quite often as solid parable rather than saccharine preaching. Touch and go for a while there!

Oh, and like any good soap, they've got me wanting to know what the hell happens next.

Fantastic review @toothaction. I only wonder if the writers can continue crafting an interesting story in the following seasons as I feel they really blew their load with the cliffhanger ending.

    Question.
Who is the odd one out?

    Answer.
Simon Pegg. Because he does a really awful American accent, where as the others all do really awful British accents.

Well, Urban's a Kiwi. That's pretty much the same thing, right?
