I agree. A very cool toy, and thrilled to see him get this well-deserved tribute, but it does seem a bit of an odd mashup to do for/as an official release.Colour me a little perplexed. I would have loved to see him do a properly 'fitted' toy, but more than that, I can't figure why he wouldn't just use an M1 Gomess for the base? Strange, as I am sure there are a ton of fans who would love some more Nakajima suited guys (myself included).

Maybe the head on to the M1 Gomess fit wasn't just right or he had no extra M1 Gomess to play around with.

Yuji painted this 1-off M1 Namegon on GID vinyl. It was also one of many for auction.

That Namegon is gorgeous. It's the giant size, correct?

Well, in that the 'normal' size of the M1 figure is indeed a giant. :) He is about 11" tall to the ends of his eye stalks and even larger, if you can believe it, in his depth. One massive chunk of vinyl. And I really love that Yuji has brought back his rainbow/GID scheme for some more toys!

Oh I'm familiar with that biggun. He's quite the shelf hog. I just wasn't sure if there was also a smaller size other than the mini.

Here's a group shot @bonemask took years ago that has the 3, giant/standard/mini:

Beautiful stuff man!! I am just some guy on an internet forum, but might I say, sir, you have excellent taste in toys. Giant gowie Nammy is such a beaut, but so is that Yadokarin brother he is standing beside. The whole shelf is just fantastic!

Thanks @ultrakaiju . A lot of the ones pictured were procured via the folks on this internet forum :)

@Fedhai - So it was YOU that beat me and my pal to it! Been after that little guy for years, ha! Good hunting, sir.

@toothaction All my apologies for that, I didn't know the story behind this toy before and when I saw it I jumped on it. I could not resist at this vicious smile. Now I'm searching the Karakasa that comes with in the DVD BOX. I Promise to don't do that anymore.

Yeah, both passed through Mandrake recently and I was too late on both counts. You should really check out the movies if you're going to own the toys from them. ;)

Ahhhhhh, so that is where it went! :) Yes, we were discussing it at length how both this fellow and the Karakasa, after many years of never showing up anywhere, suddenly appeared right after one another. Truly, not a hyped toy, or anything that gets talked about a lot (or barely mentioned) but man, are these like hen's teeth. You were incredibly lucky with the timing on that fellow Archam. Many congratulations on adopting him into your yokai family. Now to find out where the other grail landed.

True dat, I was in Marseille in '73 ... But at least the Moroccan hashish was reliably superb.

Only seen the fist episode and it's really good, not cheap as I thought, but can't find the complete series if you have a tip to find it I'm interested.

I wasn't born in 73 but I'm glad you've kept good memories of the city ;)

^^^ Nice one! That's a cool version of the character. Never knew M1 made those till someone mentioned it in the thread last week.
Philly eh? I'm now in the Philly area!

That's superb, @michael! Congratulations. :) It really is such a wonderful toy. I would love to see Yuji revisit some of these classic movie characters again, both yokai and otherwise. Going to be a wonderful addition to your Nitto fella you just snagged too. Excellent looking out man!
