Ron English "grin"

I saw this figure on vinylpulse. I like alot of Ron English work. I think this is a great figure. I know how some of you feel about western vinyl. I think this looks good. How do you guys feel about it?

Yea, it looks kind of cool.

 

Not sure I'd buy it (well, I'm pretty certain I'm not), but it is well-executed.

 

Definitely not my style, but the sculpt is pretty amazing - much closer to his artwork than the last couple of toys.

i like it but my only complaint is that Charlie Brown never really smiled. Might have been good to have his mouth as a squiggly line instead of a smile.

i wouldn't buy it... but it looks awesome... im diggin the rabbbit, and the girl rabbbit in his mini series from mindstyle to... but i wont get them either

 

This is definitely better then the Mcsupersized or whatever.

 

the skull nostrils position in relation to the nose seems little strange.

 

Yeah the nostrils dont really match. I think it is his best figure yet. just my opinion. I really like his paintings and his bilboards are awesome.

 

much more into his pop rather than this surreal style stuff...

 

He sorta looks like Charlie Brown but in a 'bootleg' execution... The shoes are too big (western toy trend?) and the curl looks awkward.

 

They may have to be oversized to support the huge noggin.

 

I think its cool. I really like Charlie Brown and have been wanting to add something Charlie-ish to my collection. I was thinking of something vintage, but this will work too.

i knew I saw something similar on the web a while back. There was an artist who drew what the skeletons of certain cartoon characters would look like.

 

the bugs bunny ones n some of the other characters are really neat!

 

yes! those are great. this guy had a show here a couple of years ago and my friend bought up a few pieces. good stuff for sure.

 

I love this line not only because it's so funny...but also because it's as true an observation on CB as you can get...

that image of Charlie Brown smiling must have been some kind of promo shit Schultz drew for something they were trying to sell, because CB's whole deal has nothing to do with smiling at all...
