Yet another phenomenal sculpt from Paul slated for a 2020 release, Sparky the Monsterchild. This charming galgoyle, to me, is a perfect evolutionary step in Paul's character arsenal between the Boss Carrion and Biter Fish, with some Creature From the Black Lagoon thrown in for extra flavor. I get a very sea witch vibe from this one, and the thicker, rotund nature of her legs and bit of bulging belly give me the impression she could easily sink any ship that crosses her seas! There looks to be two right hands sculpted for her, one of which is a spell casting pointed finger, and the other a bit of a mash between Machine Gun Ghost's spiked ball and Sparkman's claw. There's also an alternate head for Asbestora, which Paul described as an early concept sculpt. All photos ripped from Paul's Instagram. This one is going to be fun! I can already tell it’s going to be a dream in terms of taking paint and that the over flow of the sculpt is just going to fit seamlessly next to Boss Carrion a very exciting sculpt for 2020
I'm so in love with this sculpt. It has the playful fun shape of the boss body, but with an evil/menace feel to it. i cant wait to see this come to life.
can we rename this to be the dedicated Draco/Asbestora thread? genuinely in love with this new figure and its size in comparison to a boss and a bat
Man, Paul’s metallics POP like not other! What a fantastic first release!!! Hopefully I’ll eventually come into one myself. I’m still standing by my initial statement that it’s a solid evolutionary point from Boss Carrion. It looks like you could even do head swaps between the bodies and they’d still fit. But this new set is so awesome.
absolutely love how Asbestora works in this colorway, but torn that I can’t display dracos head on a body as well. Excited to see the amazing different releases to come, and to hopefully add another one to the collection so both heads can be proudly displayed.
@drybones69 Great photo! Can you please tell me who made those little wormie guys? They are super cute! Are they omakes or stand-alone toys?
@drybones69 THANK YOU!!! I've been trying to have that question answered for ages! I really love those omakes, and wish we could order a sack full!
Piggy backing off of the body of his own creation, Paul’s introduced the Kappa. While this character isn’t new to Paul’s arsenal, it is new to me, as this is my first. Right off the bat I gotta say I love the cucumber. I can’t exactly say I know why Kappa are known to love cucumbers, I just know they do. And it’s so great Paul incorporated that into its hand. The face is so haunting. Probably the most wicked looking of all of Paul’s characters. The hair raising upwards is a favorite of mine in the overall head sculpt. Something about it makes me think the Kappa is raising hell, or hellish powers. The center at the top of its head looks portal - ish, too. The paints on this DCon release are just flat out GORGEOUS. Easily one of the biggest standouts of any toy release throughout the entire convention floor. Spoiler
