I'm so torn on getting this. I think it looks great and it seems huge, but...I don't know...

Who else has pre-ordered one already? Don't mind me asking.

 

@spatula007 - I pre-ordered one. It's advertised as 12 inches in height. Made in Japan.

 

It's really pretty killer in person. Good thick vinyl that glows super bright. I'm torn on whether or not I wanna get one right away or wait, however...

 

Justin brought two samples to our booth at DCon. The height and size is really nice, and the vinyl is cooked to a nice thickness. It's also very sturdy. Even with Con patrons frequenting the booth, which leads to lots of table bumps, neither Galligantus took a tumble.

 

Good to know, because the joints in that spoiler pic look paper thin.

 

I wonder how many Mandarake bought.

 

I would doubt Mr Ishmael would give a fuck how many, or who, bought what . . . a 3 month open pre order for an unpainted 'kit' is all about the bottom line!

 

I pulled the trigger on one of these at the last minute. After several months of being indecisive, I'm pretty excited I was able to grab one. I agree the pieces in that pic appear to be from a rather thin pour. Hopefully the final product will be a nice thick pour!

 

Well yeah that's for sure, what I really wonder is how much Mandarake will be selling them for the second they get them.
¥100,000 give or take Is my guess.

Even though it was such a long pre-order I'll bet some people will still get this on the aftermarket for upwards of a G.

I did. I plan on having him painted by someone. And I love assembling vinyl lol.

 

I was originally beyond overjoyed about pre - ordering this, and even thought the price was pretty decent. Thinkin' about it, though, I personally feel like $215 on a new blank was a bit much, mainly because I started thinkin' about how much painted versions are going to cost if that's the standard base for blanks. I willingly skipped out on this one, which I somewhat do regret, but I'm sure more opportunities and chances will come. And who knows. The price can always change, as can my outlook.

 

I'm with you Robut, and ended up backing off. I have nothing negative to say about it though, and could very well regret it. I know I'd rather have a painted one anyhow. No telling on how different the price will be yet for those.

 

I'm curious to see when people start receiving them. If the packaging is as good as I expect it to be, it rationalizes things a bit more. Not saying a well-done box is worth $50 or something, but I would say it adds more value than just a bag and a header card someone printed at home.

I held out just because I'm not a big fan of blanks in general. I'll pick up a painted version eventually, assuming the price is reasonable.

 

I actually really like this figure and this version. It's pretty cool to be able to get a version of this monster for my shelves. I've had a great NM version of the famous monsters mag with this guy on the cover for a while and they will display very nice together I'm sure! As far as the price I personally feel it wasent that bad considering the box style packaging and listed extras and the size of the vinyl and also knowing that the vinyl is coming from Luke's factory and we all know it's gonna be very nice in hand, But it was a pre order so it does tip toe twords the fact that smaller runs and painted versions will be on the pricy side but all in all very confident with my pre order and stoked to even add a few more down the line if more blanks are available in different colors or if a painted catches my eye.

 

I had to bow out respectfully on this piece. To many good toys are popping up throughout the months this year and some sacrifices have to be made. Im hoping more color runs beyond the GID pop up.

 

They must be real covert releases or my left brain has finally kicked into gear.

For you, maybe. There's been plenty of new releases I've gone for, not to mention back collecting older toys like Obake Dogs, fighters, Hukkokudo and Target Earth.
