With the vaccine roll-out getting ahead of itself, it seems like the UK has finally found something we're good at!

Although it's small recompense for our appalling mortality rate.

Currently living with a couple of folks who are sick. Both of them have super mild symptoms and hopefully will je fine without any sequel in a couple of weeks max.
It’s pretty scary and totally miserable to live here now. We are all avoiding contact with each other’s and with the outside world.
I feel for the people who are isolating like that since the beginning. I would be totally cuckoo by now.
I should get vaccinated as soon as I am clear of this current mess.

My county blood bank is doing the same with the COVID testing. No antibodies for me as of last month!

If I wanted to make a cash donation to help out, which is the best place to send to send it to?

Red Cross accepts cash donations. Food banks are also a good place to donate to these days.

Kay and I got the second dose if Pfizer Valentines weekend. First dose for me my arm wanted to fall off the first night, it was really really sore, and a pretty good headache. Second dose I took Tylenol before hand to help with a headache I knew was coming on, and it wasn't so bad. She had a little bit of a arm ache, and kind of a raised bump on the injection site the first dose with a slight headache and mild arm soreness, second does the same. Talking to others that get it, it seems the side effects are all over the place just from person to person. I just recommend taking Tylenol before hand to help with the headache.

Got my second jab, was tired and sore for a couple of days but it wasn't too bad. I'm waiting the full four weeks for maximum antibodies before I do anything aside from grocery shopping, though. My "A-Day" is April 1. I plan on getting a haircut for the first time since February, and grabbing my favorite cheeseburger.

    CDC released new guidance:

Last week my governor announced that Texas was back open 100%, so I have resumed my old routine of going around the neighborhood licking doorknobs. No problems so far!

Wow, I don't even remember posting this. Anyway, be prepared for side effects after your second shot. Feels like the flu, fever, aches, chills, nausea. Tylenol got me through it.

I got both my pfizer doses over a month ago. Apparently the side effects are significantly different from person to person. My wife and I really experienced no side effects what so ever (other than a sore arm), but i have friends who were out for 2-3 days with cold sweats and headaches. Just be prepared to be down and out for a couple days, but you may be lucky like myself and have no issues.

My wife has had both of her shots now, and had some side effects after each- after the first, she developed a (non-painful) lump in a lymph node in her neck. After the second, she felt flu-type lousy (but not incapacitated-lousy) for about 2.5 days. The lump was weird though, kinda freaked her out, and took about two weeks to fully go away. I assumed it was just because the microchip got a little stuck.

When do you fellow Joe Schmo Americans think we'll be able to get our shots? June? July? I've already started saving for all the wonderful Microsoft products I'll be craving once vaccinated.

I'm told there are locations now that have sign-ups where you can get shots if people cancel their appointments or don't show up. Other places you can just walk in towards the end of the day and get a shot if they have any left over. Otherwise the doses are wasted.

Microsoft Bob is a lot of fun.

It depends on your state and how much is available but Alaska just opened vaccinations to everyone over 16 and with three vaccines in full force with other companies help produce the vaccines, I bet April, May. My PCP told me this morning that I could come in the end of this month and more than likely get it.

In Oregon the target keeps getting bumped up. A few weeks ago they were saying hopefully July, and the other day I heard hopefully by the end of April!

I'm so irritated! I have my name into every hat i can to get a vaccine. Well what happens? I fucking get covid! 2 days after I get covid Kaiser calls and says I'm eligible for the vaccine and to call and schedule my appointment. Well as it turns out since I got covid I have to wait 90 days before I can get the vaccine. So dumb.

Dang dude - that sucks. Sorry to hear.
My coworker got covid AFTER getting the vax. It's probably been about 2 months at this point and she's still feeling the effects. She's in her 20s.
