ninja arashi- go big or go home

@Lixx Chris thanks for sharing this picture of you Majin Sai on the outside, it really looks great and as you well say here you can see more the bluish highlights; especially in the legs and chest.
In addition the hair of yours is in much better condition than mine, apparently mine was exposed to a lot of humidity, when it arrived it had something black as tar in his hair, which struggled hard to remove and instead of having a silver tone in the hair like yours has, my result with a more yellowish tone. Unfortunately I do not have some good photos of him.

 

Ouch really? Sorry to hear about the hair of your Majin Sai. If it makes you feel better, I think mine once had a luxurious mane but it looks sort of spotty and thinnish in the back now (due to age). It came pretty matted down so I sort of separated the clumps. I think I'd feel a little weird taking a comb to my dollies hair

 

Love this guy so much and great photo. It's definitely going to be my next Ninja Arashi purchase, any size really.

 

I definitely recommend pulling the trigger on the giant size if one pops up. Best of the bunch (I also like the Popy mini, not too into the standard size) I admired everyone else's for many many years- and then the perfect storm of having the cash, one actually showing up, and not having to outbid someone (Mandarake) by buying outright came up. Jumped on it like it was my job!

I cannot wait to set up again one day and place him next to giant size Cobraman and Chameleon!

 

This thread taught me about the popy minis which is a revelation for me lol. Definitely post a picture when you get all your giant sizes together!

Oh my ex girlfriend absolutely hated my toy collection, and would often make fun of me- and most of my friends in general do not understand my hobby at all. So honestly the only place I even talk about it with anyone is here. I think most signifcant others are like that, which to me is really annoying because I'm quite sure they also have characteristics or hobbies that I'd consider sucky as well.

 

The truth is I have not shown my small collection to my friends or anyone else, I do not think they understand and it is a bit frustrating trying to explain to someone who does not have this hobby. But I must say that my family supports me a lot and I have no problems with them.

 

I'm sorry I know it's more of the same, but I'm trying with a new phone camera, I also felt that I owed a better picture to this figure.

I would like to improve my standard Majin Sai; because the hair is a little shorter than normal, apparently at some point someone cut it. I hope soon to be able to catch the two villains that I need, at a certain moment I had the opportunity to catch them but I opted for other figures at that moment.

@ultrakaiju Thank you for your support words Steve, I'm glad you enjoyed the group's photo because I know you're a big fan of vintage figures as well as @Michael Beverage and @XVivaHateX, so your good comments tell me that I'm on the right path of the vintage collecting.
Regarding the haircut I have my own theory; it seems to me that with the frequent use of the figure, or being stored next to other objects and in different climates (some more humid than others) the hair of the figure tends to get entangled in the tips and the quickest way to try to fix it the hair is cutting it. There are some very good videos of doll collectors that treat their hair with fabric softener and it looks like they have very good results. Steve I know that you want to increase your Ninja Arashi family so I will have an eye alert for you and when I see some worthwhile figure I send you a message.

Very nice. There are three figures in that special edition "rock base" set. The other two are Barom 1 and Kamen Rider 1 Go.
