Pretty sure this was released in Japan at Nakano... NOT an NYCC release to my knowledge... blast me if I'm wrong...

 

^^ I don't recall that one released @nycc either. Also, its sealed, which none of them were. Would be wierd for someone to fold an unbent header and staple it themselves for such a large toy.

 

i didnt see this as one of the ones at NYCC either... heres hopes for DCON!

as much as i know groman will knock out his full on paint application- im anticipating seeing one of these in traditional spray patterns, a la tokyo or hawaii. i think that could be pretty cool, leaving the human eye to pick out all of the details as opposed to paint showing them.

 

Agreed! Some smart, simple sprays would make this thing beautiful.

Wow! I don't usually collect soft vinyl w' such realistic paint application, but DAMN, that really is one amazingly detailed sculpt!

It's obvious how much care went into making this bruiser, and he Rocks!

 

that is absolutely brilliant. this toy finally clicked with me!

 

Its incredible! James has this incredible knack for detail that just blows me away. That toy is phenomenal.

 

I think this figure is amazing but I just can't get past the stumped tail I realize this is the character James created but in vinyl form it just looks unfinished. If there was a completed tail I would pick one up for sure. The custom above is seriously ridiculous!

 

So rad. Jame's rotten rexx is a must!!!

It's a kit model (9 pieces), also from original illustrations of his. Model stands @ 22inches!

I found these two while google image surfin. I still can't find a closeup of the tail nub detail. Anyone?

 

JG designed and, I believe, originally sculpted it w/ a full tail. The tail was changed to its stumped form at Luke's insistence- he had some manner production concern over it, but I can't recall exactly what. I also think it's a bit of a loss and looks somewhat forced, but it's still amazing to have this much Groman wonderfulness in vinyl, and I say MORE, please!

They should include the tail and make it attach with magnets. So you can still display it with out the tail on, or attach it whenever you want.

 

I didn't like it not having a full tail at first but now I think the stub suits the figure... "Rotten Meat Rex" is crazy awesome! When will release info be announced and price point?

 

Pre-orders for blank flesh or gray have been open since mid-October over at Lulubell. Price $125 + S&H.

 

i think he meant the dcon one-offs... and i don't know about time/price, either.

 

Given the nature of the figure (a rotten dinosaur) I like that the tail rotted off and that they added detail to the area. Having a detachable tail would add to cost, time, etc and it's already got a lot going on sculpt wise.

Those 1offs look amazing, can't decide which of the two on IG is my favorite.

 

I'm really diggin' the Raw Meat version. Kinda reminds me of Diablo from the prehistoric-based fighting game Primal Rage, if anyone's played it. Can't wait to see these in person.
