2014 was the year, that, AFTER DCon was over, and the halls were cleared of all but vendors, I went to Mori - San and Satomi - Kun's booths and was able to still buy a good handful of items. It's wild, the immediate lines and hysteria those two booths create now.
This (beat me to it Kay ) Think many folks tend to be fairly drained after the hustle/bustle of Saturday and opt for a more low-key evening to recharge for Sunday. Secret Walls event in '15 was a good time though. If for some reason the afterparty situation is different this year, decent chance there will still be tix available at the door.

I can't remember if it was 2014 or 2015 when I walked up late to their booth and got a mini frog sumo guy and a Punk Drunkers Madball coin pouch. Super casual, all the hardcore collectors had already bought everything they wanted.
Got my VIP tickets for Dcon, secured a hotel that's only a walk away from the convention and booked my flight today. So no silly surprises later on down the line. I hope Medicom brings some Godzilla toys to the show.
First time going to Dcon, and as a new collector of sofubi, ( RxH, Skull Toys, Refreshment, Punkdrunkers, Uamou ) Im excited at the chance to finally get a chance to buy their toys at retail, but even if I miss out on everything, It be cool just to see the designers themselves and maybe get a picture with them. I wonder if they will be willing to autograph a older piece from my collection, guess I'll find out at the con !
negative... it was a hard sale when it was included in the badge... the fact that it's being promoted to outside attendees and the chance to see Dave Grohl might help. I'd assume many of us will be choosing to spend Sat night hanging with friends versus $35 to an event to hang with friends. Just my take anyways.

I sadly missed Five Points earlier this year, so I’m hoping to make up for lost time and lost smiles. Sincerely wish the Bog x Squad dudes would be making it out, but they will one year! Otherwise, I’m excited as hell to see everyone I saw at Summer Slime, as well as everyone I didn’t!
The first Secret Walls after party with Skinner V. Lamour Supreme was the only after party worth attending. This will be my 6th? DCon and also the one I'm least excited for.
not sure if its been said in this thread yet but most of the bigger, crowd drawing, japanese toy makers like rxh, punkdrunkers, gargamel, and what not usually sell their toys an hour after regular doors open to combat flippers getting VIP tickets/booths for early purchases.Since there will be a lot of new vendors from japan they may not follow suit. the vip line is usually as long as the regular line too. just a heads up
Yeah, that was the one. Only event (to the best of my knowledge) that had toys worth showing up & trying for. Cool spot with a good atmosphere. Smaller scale of the venue and nature of the releases seemed to lead the "Westerners" elsewhere, so the crowd was mostly of those in the sofubi realm. Got lucky with the raffle, and that figure will always serve as a nice souvenir from a relaxed & fun evening spent in good company.
Line started 10 min after tix went live. Only 50 or so deep right now... get down here pronto & you'll be aiIight. Same. Beauty of that micro run aside, one of my fave toys in the collection due to the sentimental value it has.
