It's time to lift the curtain: I'm doing a toy show in Atlanta called "Kaiju Cult".

I wanted to make this show unique: a show I'd love to attend as a fan. We're going to have live painting by resident artists, sculpting, and even a screening of "Inframan" by the Silver Scream Spook show.

I know Atlanta ain't exactly toy Mecca, but I hope to see some of you out there.

That being said, here's the first preview: "Clockwork Ace" by Mechnoiz Toys!

Chris knows I'll be there. I'll be the dude in the corner with the bottle of booze seeing how many kaijooz I can fit in my butt at once.

But seriously, y'all come out. It'll be fun. I'm looking forward to it. Chris has been working hard to put this together. We have 5 million plus people in the Hotlanta metro area; there just gots to be some more of us funky grown-up toy weirdos down here.

@boon velvet- up for a road trip? Would love to finally meet ya. If not, no worries, I'll meet you down yonder in the swamps.
Will be working in your area over the summer.

    How about Florida folk?

Oh man, and actually in Jojugh too. Sucks, cause I can't imagine a show being closer in proximity to here, but it's still too far for me to travel in one swoop (damnit). So wish I could tho @Michael Beverage. It's not realistic unfortunately.

Look forward to meeting up with you when you're down this way tho, Michael! Be sure to bring your best gator wrastlin speedo.

Good luck with the show, @kid_miracleman .

We'll have a lotto. Anyone that can successfully judge how many MVH Ollies @Michael Beverage can shove up his dumper gets a prize: a scratch n' sniff brown Ollie!

Got another preview too: Miscreation Toys' Autopsy Zombie Staple Baby!

I live in the city I'm gonna come for sure. Any chance of there being vintage bull mark, ultraman Godzilla etc type stuff there

We may do a museum-type thing. The co-host, Shane, has a pretty extensive Godzilla collection, including a ridiculously beautiful Hedorah in black velvet.

Honestly it's a mix of bad timing and an over-abundance of caution.

I have absolutely no idea how big the toy market is in Atlanta since the only fellow collector I've actually met is @Michael Beverage. That being said, the idea is to try and make this more than a traditional toy show of just walk around and look at expensive stuff and maybe buy some of it. We want to make it more interactive where you can talk to artists about their technique and even see live demos. Originally, we were going to fly Skinner out and he and Shane were gonna just fuck around with art like Skinner's new Youtube show working on a painting live together (my co-host Shane Morton is also the art director of the Adult Swim show "Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell" and he the Mastodon "Asleep in the Deep" music video with Skinner so I had a unique connection there). That likely isn't going to happen, but I'm hoping that after this first show if I can plan a bit more ahead of time (Shane is stupid busy with TV, film and music work which only keeps expanding) and make something really unique that artists like I can really go nuts on show #2 and actually get people so excited they fly out.

Atlanta is becoming more and more of a destination city and I just want to do my part to make more people come and enjoy it by sharing something I love and psyching artists up to contribute to something cool (we're gonna have some pretty awesome other stuff like Sean Linkenback is coming and he wrote the book on Godzilla collecting literally, Kyle Yaklin makes some amazing kaiju FX, and more I didn't announce here).

    Gotta start somewhere, right?

This is a bit early to say, but we may have a secret VIP-only vintage and neokaiju museum showing for those with a secret password. If it happens I'll post it here and on some other collector forums.

Rad I'm super stoked I've only met maybe one other person in the city that cares about these old toys

So we're gonna have a VIP-only museum showing during the event. Stuff from the personal connection of myself and @Michael Beverage as well as Shane (he used to be a Godzilla dealer in the 90s and has some crazy awesome shit like a black velvet Hedorah) and Sean Linkenback, the dude who wrote the book on Godzilla collecting. I'll post how to get in when it's time.

Looks like we're getting some stuff from Death Cat Toys as well as Shirahama Toy as well! Plus the toy museum exhibit is a go. If anyone is interested in attending, PM me and I'll make sure you are hooked up!

I will let Chris fill y'all in properly, but it was a blast. Quite a few collectors showed up. Sean Linkenback had a booth and Shane Morton put on an awesome spook show/movie showing, as well as doing live painting and toy customizing. There was a lot of other monster/toy memorabilia available as well. The scene down here is kind of disjointed but diverse and vibrant, much more so than I expected. Sean and Shane are two of the main people responsible for generating interest in kaiju colllecting within the states 20 years ago, and they are both still rockin' it, so it's very cool to have them as cornerstones in the Atlanta scene.

Big props to @kid_miracleman for making it happen; I wouldn't have taken the initiative. Hopefully it will be an annual deal now.

Also the venue was great- Avondale Towne Cinema I think was the name. Stocked bar, plenty of chill hang out areas, and the main stage area is spacious but cozy.

A definitive maybe. I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off, so I didn't get to really take photos. I stole the stuff from other people who came and posted on IG.

@Michael Beverage , you score any photos?

I did not get any photos unfortunately. I ended up displaying some M1, a Yamaton, a bit of Bemon, Anraku, Ilu Ilu, and some Bullmark tin toys. We weren't sure how much space was going to be available so it was hard to plan for it accordingly.

Shane had a bunch of incredible stuff in the museum, like a piece of the original godzilla suit with gunpowder burns on it. All his stuff had an amazing story attached to it. My overpriced kaiju paled in comparison.
