It looks good, but why is everyone so obsessed with Satan? It seems kind of silly to me, It's like painting Christmas presents, and Santa Claus everywhere, or the Easter Bunny.

It's because we can't paint the prophet.

Kind of agree, I'm no satanist, but I have more interest and study in the occult than the average person. And I don't get the connection here to Satan, but like I said, I'm not a satanist, so maybe I'm just not familiar enough or am missing something. Don't get me wrong Frank, it looks cool. I like him, it just seems like you threw some pentagrams on and labeled it antichrist. I'd rather see the pentagrams removed, and it just be another strange kaiju. Again, I think it's a cool figure and is looking good, I just don't get the association.

My take on this is that Satan is a universally recognized character, who embodies pure evil and incarnates himself in a ton of physical forms depending on who you speak to. Doesn't matter what demographic you fall into, if something is labeled as being Satan, you'll catch the jist of it's character. Plus, you could pretty much create the character however you want, as Satan takes many different shapes.

True, you could paint Santas everywhere... but Santa more specifically represents the "spirit of Christmas", rather than a more vague, universally grasped concept like "good" or "evil". Plus, he has a pretty established, and relatively singular, image... so it'd be a bit more difficult to re-shape his character and still label him as Santa Claus.

So why Satan? He's a very malleable bad guy. And altho I can't speak for everyone, my toy box has always had way more villains in it than heroes.

Good points Cubensis. It reminded me of the book, 100 artists see satan. I get the idea of Satan or an antichrist is different to every individual.
I like Frank's character, and I know English isn't his primary language, but I think that this project could benefit from a deeper explanation of what Antichrist 666 means to him.

Hmmm, interesting thoughts guys. When I recently painted that small run of cadaver kids I had People telling me either 'dude,... Why did you have to paint a pentagram in his chest' or 'DUDE! Sweet! A pentagram!'. Thing is, the figure lent itself (as I saw it) to interpretation as a 'Daemon' of sorts, and the pentagram then became sort of part of that imagery. I imagine Frank drew this character as some wierd kaiju/beast thing, and then it struck him as having 'daemonic characteristics,' which gave him reason to name it as he did (and maybe add the pentagrams as an after thought?). My only real issue with the pentagrams here is the way they are sculpted - but I'm pretty sure Chauskoskis is just working kn getting the figure's proportions sorted and the details will get tuned in later.

I'm also no big fan of the devil, but monsters, beasts, daemons are deeply rooted in the occult's imagery - so, even if it isn't totally original, a lot of (us) monster-artist-types often find ourselves working with this imagery in mind.

i agree with everyone here- i really enjoy the graffiti first version with the neck and larger head.

i could do without the pentagrams and such- check out the king satan walder (original one, not the crazy pentagram one haha) but you get the idea of a demon and satan and whatever but it is done rather tastefully and subtle.

either way im excited to see this thing go further! it reminds me of an ebill/wekillyou collab

The main idea with El Anticristo 666 is just to have a character related to the end of the world. Neither me nor Chauskoskis are satanics, it's more about mocking certain symbolisms that are offensive in Mexico, like the inverted star and other satanic symbols. There's so many catholics in Mexico that this would be really offensive. I could sum it up as this being a challenging figure, which I enjoyed designing and not really intended to offend but to have fun.

The story behind the character is a parody of the paranoia around the 'end of the world'. Something ironic is that with his middle eye he throws beams that form rainbows.
I hope to finish the complete character soon, which includes 3 different heads.

    I hope you enjoy it.
    Thank Axolot for the traduction

Excellent ! Happy to see you going for this. I'm very interested in seeing how this progresses. Chaukoskis' sculpting translates your style very well. I really like the polyhedral skull head too, will that be one of the three heads ?

    This sketch ...

Me gusta así con el cuello largo. También la idea del ojo central. Resulta que es un cíclope, no? Y las alitas tb, me recuerdan a Cornelio el dragón.
