Painted cocoon to Michigan, STAT! Did the earlier larvae land yet? I've yet to see snaps of them on the slow go.
Both were released last year. The larger Mothra larva do not seem to be very popular. I have seen a picture from Mike Johnson of the yellow version he order. Other than that I haven't seen them around.
Just wanted to say I'm tremendously enjoying Anraku's "lizard breeding diary" - a heartwarming glimpse of badly google-translated humanity in a world gone apeshit. Also, the latest set of clear orange/GID Glutes rocks.
Yas the one pictured above is opaque clear pink with quite a bit of paint I believe. Don't have it in hand yet but that should be a fair assessment.
This sculpt is just fantastic. The paint is great too. Over 10 inches tall is nice too but 240 is still pretty steep. Open pre-order!
I'm going to pick this up as I love the sculpt. I hope the yellow paint apps look better on the toys in hand. There have been some nice colorways of the Medicom preorders as of late, but it seems like there is always something to sabotage them from being truly great and/or approaching the greatness of Anraku's original paint schemes. The recent clear blue GID guts goga is beautiful in hand, except Medicom had to go slop white paint all over the bottom of the figure. They have done this on multiple releases now. Why, I'll never know. That and the frequency...I was and still am happy about the preorders, but the pace has been frenetic and stupid. I wish they would have done less releases and put more thought into each one. That being said, there still have been some very memorable preorders.
@Michael Beverage Great points, although I can hardly imagine Medicom doing anything that Anraku doesn't greenlight - point in case being the recent very special and specific paintjob on the clear pink Zollo, which seems an effort to replicate the mostly dry-brushed pre-order images. Do I agree with all the paint choices? FUCK no, but I couldn't say I liked ALL of Anraku's OG colorways either. All I know is I own five Goga by now, one GID, one clear & two clears with GID guts. Good enough for me.
I can honestly say I like every single one of AA's original colorways, somehow. But yep you are right- I forgot he probably still has a ton of oversight on the preorder paint jobs. I'm definitely happy enough as well with what's been done. I'm still buying them fairly regularly.
Isn't he the one doing the prototypes and that is why they are drybrushed? Something about his health issues not allowing him to airbrush anymore?
I'm still waiting for Medicom to get it right. I'll be back when they stop putting eyelashes and eyebrows on stuff.

Those lizards and tortoises are awfully cute, but all of the health problems he's running into makes me wonder if he's providing a calcium powder supplement or has the humidity levels right. Reptiles are so damn delicate. Too humid and they can get respiratory infections, eye infections, or mouth infections... or if they're too cold they can start bruminating/hibernating from the cold, and if they have food in their intestines during that time, they can get constipated or get an intestinal infection. Not enough calcium and their bones bend, warp, and can even become brittle and break. Also once they develop Metabolic Bone Disease, it's incurable. Anyway, that's my reptile care warning of the day.
