Been looking forward to this one for awhile. I mean Ferris Bueller brings so much to the screen I wasn't sure if they could top that remake.... New trailer is completely legit though and how can you go wrong with Bryan Cranston!
Yes, especially the first teaser with the voice-over quote from Oppenheimer. The more recent trailer looks a bit more "Hollywood" but not in a nasty/stupid Michael Bay sort of way. There's obviously a serious edge to this movie, which while risky, hasn't really been seen in Godzilla films for a very long time.
I really like the new trailer. For some reason the sense of despair and living hell is really resonating. The imagery alone should be worth the price of admission. The paratroopers and the red smoke cans makes such a striking image that i've had to rewatch the thing a few times even though the big man doesn't show up until the the very last second.
Now that is what I expect from a trailer - make me curios and excited for the movie to come, not show me a 3 minute version of the actual movie. Really, I am always so annoyed when I sit in the movie theater and they show these 'trailers' that give away almost everything. Since this is just the Godzilla teaser I am going to avoid any further footage till I can see the actual movie.
Wow! Going to be better than I hoped. But seriously, was disappointed with Pacific Rim and the main reason was all the battle scenes took place at night, in the rain, under water. (hard to make out stuff at times). I know this is a teaser trailer & they want to reveal as little as possible, but come on !! Have at least 1-2 scenes in broad open daylight, under a blue sky.... even if it's just Godzilla taking a stroll along the countryside.
Indeed he does. Why not take him for a stroll?: http://godzilla.jp If you're at work, you might want to turn the volume down, lest you discover the mystery keystroke...
The hair on the back of my neck were standing and goosebumps ran down my arms. I'm very excited for this.
Yeah ... I vaguely remember it, but i thought it was on a TV display that characters in the movie were watching?? And really, if the Godzilla movie only shows 20 seconds of daytime battle and the rest is at night, etc. then I hope those scenes are really clear + nicely filmed.
Mutavore walking through the wall was on TV. The actual fight was full screen. I'm sure there will be daytime scenes with Godzilla in it.
Wow, amazing cover! "Empire" + Japanese hinomaru has a vague fascist connotation, but graphically, it's awesome!
The new roar. It's like the old roar, but more ... radioactive. http://www.scifijapan.com/articles/2014 ... rner-bros/
So many smart details and references to history and past movies there. One that I particularly like is the Spoiler origami cranes (often used to commemorate the Hiroshima bombing) seen in what appears to be a scene in Japan near the beginning of the trailer. May is too far away!
