Very interesting. so many cataloguing projects have come and gone through the years. I really hope this one sticks
This is awesome as a concept, but not sure if it’ll pick up. I’m not sure how many people out there would do the work of cataloging it all.
I was just about to post the same thing. And when a specific wiki is created, who hosts the files? Something like a soft vinyl wiki is bound to be image heavy.
My first contributions to the site. Work in progress: https://sofubiki.com/en/makers/manufacturers/bullmark-vintage https://sofubiki.com/en/makers/manufacturers/bullmark-vintage/releases/alien-icarus-standard https://sofubiki.com/en/makers/manufacturers/bullmark-vintage/releases/kameba-standard
Roger, I really like the "profile" pictures of Kameba and Icarus out in the woods, or your backyard or whatever. It's almost like a facebook page
Sorry, that was my bad. I just simplified the URL paths across the site... Roger's brilliant entries can now be found at: https://sofubiki.com/en/manufacturers/bullmark-vintage https://sofubiki.com/en/manufacturers/bullmark-vintage/releases/alien-icarus-standard https://sofubiki.com/en/manufacturers/bullmark-vintage/releases/kameba-standard
Oh my goodness what AWESOME news! I can’t wait to see this bloom into a new and updated database. This is so good to know! Also, welcome, @l3rett !
An idea which I have floated here on more than one occasion, and one which I really see the need for, especially with the temporary shelving of CT (eagerly awaiting the return of 2.0!). I hope it takes off and wish it much success. I am not sure about the wiki aspect of it, as I can see a lot of hangups that might introduce, but I guess having it open makes for general increased simplicity. Just my persnickety librarian nature that wants everything to be organised, catalogued, and standardised.
Unfortunately the site just appears blank white on my phone (Android) in both desktop/mobile modes. Admittedly its a few years old but 99% of sites still work on it, I'm a bit puzzled why this one isn't displaying.
Yeah, I probably just need to update my browser or something. Not sure if I want to do that for the sake of one website, I can always just check it out on my work Mac. This sounds like a great project.
Updated some content today, formatting and other stuff still needs to be done but the meat is finally on the bones: https://sofubiki.com/en/manufacturers/marusan-vintage https://sofubiki.com/en/manufacturers/bullmark-vintage https://sofubiki.com/en/manufacturers/marusan-modern https://sofubiki.com/en/manufacturers/bullmark-modern
