@Temporal Marauder - soak a soft cloth in some warm water and mild dish soap, and then rub gently at the goo to see if it will release from the vinyl. Be careful and gentle if it's on top of existing paint. Also, I have to echo @Shiverbones and @ultrakaiju that there is no shame in picking up damaged vintage toys. The Marusan goji I posted with silver sprays had its right leg replaced at some point, but it was difficult to even notice unless you are scrutinizing the toy up close with a keen eye on the subtle color difference in the silver spray. It was nicely replaced with a matching piece. I picked it up for about one third the cost of a fully-intact vintage example.
Nice grab!!! I've had good luck with rubbing the toy down with dish soap (with without wetting it first), then rising it off.
Never thought I’d ever find this guy for an affordable price. The crown jewel of my collection maybe.
He is a beauty @Temporal Marauder, congrats on a really nice adoption. His cyborg 'innards' look to be in really great shape which is such a bonus with these, and perhaps even more surprising is that the vinyl has only barely yellowed. A choice example of a great toy. Careful with moving those limbs man!! ;P
Happy mail Day! Bullmark standard size Godman. After being in the international mail limbo for months, he finally arrived safely. View this post on Instagram
Very nice, Roger! I am so glad that he finally arrived, I feel like you have been waiting for this one for ages (and I can only imagine how you feel!). He is a lovely toy, it is a pity that there were not more Godman toys made. He has quite an interesting design for a hero, and the villains from the show are so fun. Both big versions of this guy are getting harder to track down these days. This is a great one to add to your collection.
Thank you Steve, you're right I also wish they had made more figures from this series like the vintage villains, I know bearmodel took on the task of making some of the Goldman villains and they made a very good sculptures. The other two Godman as you well mention are becoming more difficult to see for sale and especially the cyborg version, that's why I was encouraged to pull the trigger with this one, a few years ago I let go of the normal version of removable mask and I still regret it for not having bought it. But we all have at least one such story.
With everything frustrating these days, toys have provided a brief respite to my responsibilities in the real world. Here's a couple of weeks of mail for me.
Great buys guys! Glad to see some increase in vintage love lately. @Shiverbones Gudon is such a great figure, and like @XVivaHateX was saying, these used to be fairly pricey, but lately for whatever reason - great news for us vintage fans - I have seen a ton pop up on the market for bargain prices. That is a really nice snag, I love the silvery accents he has with that deep blue. @brobles Superb lot you acquired there, Brian. Some quality tastes, if I might say so. That Bullmark Story book, man, what a treasure trove of visual delights that is. I still pleasantly remember being able to find these in shops in Japan. Really interesting Gyango, I love this version with the more metallic green and yours has some beautiful paint on it.
Beautiful grab, Rei. Not ONLY is that just an absolute superb vintage (or any era toy), AND is it in such lovely condition with those gorgeous dark paints and subtle metallic highlights, it was ALSO such an incredible steal to snag on here. I am sooooooo happy that you snagged it. Honestly, not much gets said about this Nezubirdon, but I absolutely adore him. Great idea, wonderful detail, a ton of personality, and just so fun while also being 'kaiju menacing.' Well chosen, sir.
@ultrakaiju i don’t follow yja, I would be forever broke if I did, so haven’t been too aware of price fluctuations. This one was $110 which seemed like a great deal to me
This is actually a couple different mail days in one. First, this big box of pendant courtesy of @Mark K Thanks so much! These guys are great. Then some more from mandarake. Both bullmark.
I'd never taken a hard/close look at the Bullmark Dangar/Dunger before, and man, those feet are remarkable. So are the colors on that specimen. Presentation-wise, that thing ruled the playground. Congrats!
Thanks, I like the colors also, the brown with the red overspray around his mouth. Hes also really common and can be had for super cheap which is nice.
